    Default R#184, Sparta & NST Meet and Greet Incoming!

    Hello Runners!

    The latest patch for Neocron is about to come your way, R#184 will be hitting Titan this Sunday 29th September! Titan will be taken offline between 11:00 BST/12:00 CEST and 13:00 BST/14:00 CEST for approximately 1 hour.

    While we are patching the server, do come and find us in IRC and follow @OfficialNeocron on Twitter. R#184 Patch Notes will be posted via the usual channels once Titan is back online.

    It has been over a year now since the voluntary Neocron Support Team took over the operation of the Neocron Service. In that time we've gone through several ups and downs together. Now it is time to meet again together on Titan! Along with the release of R#184, there will be a meet and greet event with the Neocron Support Team, supported by a special NeoCast live broadcast.

    Tune in to NeoCast at 18:00 BST/19:00 CEST this Sunday and join the party on Titan!

    And finally…
    As suggested in the latest Development Update, Sparta will launch on Tuesday 1st October at 19:00 BST/20:00 CEST. Sparta's launch marks the beginning of the Neocron Balancing Project journey that so many of you have been waiting for! Details on how to access Sparta, what's changed and how to help, will be communicated closer to the launch date.

    Excellent news Start of winter is definitely a good time to get people involved again. Have you got any patch notes Alduin? And what will be initial focussing of the balancing project on Sparta? Will the net code issues with beam/ray weapons be addressed before hand?

    If you have been reading the Dev Updates, and Vedeena patch notes, you should have a good idea of what is coming

    But as per the annoucement above, patch notes will be delivered as the server comes back online.

    congratulations on an important milestone in the rebirth.

    Interesting timing too. GTA 5 multiplayer or sparta! tough decision for some im sure.

    So everything from current TS is making it's way to retail?

    I'm asking specifically about "unclumping" firemobs to make F12 friendly for TG noobs, while having them instakilled right outside Canyon gate in E13 by Reaperspiders camping the exit and few groups of 3-5 Grim Chasers in case they somehow manage to evade first trap?

    The version of F12 on Vedeena will not be coming to Titan*. Based on feedback received (mainly from yourself, thank you) and further testing of natural spawn distribution in F12, the chance of coming across groups of dangerous monsters has been greatly increased. While high level mobs still don't spawn right on the roads, they do spawn a lot closer increasing the danger for those traveling along them.

    Encounters with groups of high level mobs is more in line with the R#183 state of play, however these groups occur in more locations and continuous hunting in the zone will cause the distribution of these to change. It is still possible to find lone high level mobs for an easier kill but killing these can cause other groups to increase in number. Hunting should now be a much more varied experience (the original intention) but the lacking number of mobs and grouped mobs has been addressed (removing these was not the intention).

    The new* distribution should cater for both groups of high level PVEers, lone wolves should be able to find mobs to kill and teams of hunters should find some groups of monsters more of a challenge.

    Furthermore the total number of high level firemobs in the zone has been increased again.

    To specifically answer about "unclumping": The intention is to prevent several mobs spawning inside one another, in an incredibly small radius. You should not find that anymore. It was not intended that groups of mobs are never found. Rather than finding (for example) 3 Grim Chasers stood inside each other, you should now find them stood in a group close enough to get all of their attention when getting close or their calls for help to trigger the rest of the group.

    You should also no longer find these mobs naturally spawning half way up a sheer cliff face.

    Vedeena's R#184-T#184 addressed the points you highlight in E13. Low level (but not new) Twilight Guardian Runners are able to leave the Canyon and navigate through some of the sector if they are very careful. These players should be able to reach the new Mutant and Reaper Spider leveling areas (intended to be equivalent to MB's Bunker). However it's not guaranteed they will not be killed if they wander away from the roads and do not navigate around dangerous mobs sensibly. Like in F12, dangerous mobs do spawn near to roads, just not slap bang in the middle of them.

    *Unfortunately it was not possible to get the latest version of these zones onto Vedeena in R#184-T#189, however I am confident your (and others) concerns have been addressed. The situation on Titan will be monitored and further changes made (our new more agile approach), based on feedback once the player base have experienced these changes en mass.
