Exactly.
For me, it doesn't even have to be a new model. I'd be more than happy to just look like an adult in this supposedly adult-targeted game.
Most of us play NC because of sentiment, so give it to us.

New game engine.... *cough* unity *cough*
Could call it Neocron: Unleashed ;)
This. So much need this and I don't think it would be too much work to put and it would make the game so much better. I agree that the rarity system should be there, but maybe for aesthetics like Faid said. You really, really want the players to be able to be geared up (1/2 slots rares) to fight as soon as they can.
My opinion is Neocron has such a huge potential for PvE that I think with some rework it will really improve the game for newcomers and others.
I would like an eject button on my gun too please.
Im a noob! and soory for bad eng! 2 things to improve game:
1. dont know the cap in r3ikling or poking and construkt and so on, let say its lvl 150, make a shop/clinik that offers all that construktion resusch poking and so on, but only to lvl 100 and let the last lvl to the ppl. i meen tha biggest reason that ppl dont play ennymore i think is becuse you cant get help with poking construkting and so on, i dont know if you can impementh this ider, but if you cud this can shange alot in this game.
2. Get a market where high lvl ppl can sell there stuff that way thay can farm and have a reson to log in and play.
Dont know if you can do this, i hope so, and again sorry for bad english!
NPCs, that can poke you and appear when the pop drops below 5% ... that does not sound like a bad idea.
significantly lower non-rare weapon caps up to tl 75 so that tradeskillers can level in combat whilst retaining their tradeskilling specialisation.
How cruel of you sir.
I'd like to start by saying Faid has been pretty much spot on with every suggestion he has made in this thread.
I believe Neocron would benefit from some super-rare world drops from Coloured PAs, new trophies, rare vehicles, special parts for building WoC requirement weapons -- (which actually makes them super hard to get versus techparts).
I love the idea of being able to color code enemy clans.
What about some hard to get Heart Implants, and some different Bones which give bonuses to fire, energy, etc.
I personally think that the entire rare pool needs re-evaluating, and the weapons which are just completed unused should be drops from monsters. I think that there should be a variety of Rare Halos added to game, as well as other class's weapons which are monster drop only, with a low chance of dropping, with random stats and slots. Holy Toxification (Drop from the Kri'nakh Shaman), Holy Conflagration (Drop from Chaos Queen), and Holy Electrocution (Drop from Apparition in Worm Tunnels).
- Wisdom of Ceres requirement Brain Chips (I'm hoping this is already coming: http://forum.neocron-game.com/entry....the-Main-Sewer).
- Revisit the old areas like the Worm Tunnels and Village Storages, either make them fun again, or make the Energy Soulblade TL80, and improve it's damage. Which would make it a viable Melee PE endgame PvP weapon.
On a separate note, fix the Marine CPU and MOVEON.
**I'm not saying that these are the BEST ideas ever, but they'd keep people busy, and make things interesting whilst the PVP balancing is going on in the background.
....
theres plenty of minor problems in NC and one single big one: people are getting bored once they're capped and had a few fights. which is sort of stupid because there's so much to do in NC, but well. to mute the constant complaining we'd need to
[1] bring in more 120ish mobs with precious loot (trophies, more TL90guns, etc) and
[2] strengthen op fights. because op fights are the single one central element of NC.
the new dev team already changed a few things (weapon balancing, runspeed adjustment) to improve op battles, while theres more changes needed.
how could we bring more people to op fights? are there overpowered setups to be removed? how could a non-capped char play a substantial role in an op fight? i think "improving op combat" should be discussed in a thread on its own.
Start the thread he said. They will come he said.
Rebalancing ppu buffs.
Right now ppus are the sole thing deciding who wins a fight. If you have a 2v2 fight, 2 tanks vs 1 tank 1 ppu the tank ppu team will almost always win because the tank wont die and the other tanks will take a ton of damage. In a perfect world in this situation it would be 50/50 split of wins.
The solution is to make ppu buffs a lot less effective when used on other people, yes I know ppu buffs used on themself are already better but right now those used on other people are to effective still. PPUs aren't just a class right now they are the gods of battle deciding who wins and who loses and it just ruins the entire balance of the game.
I have a few ideas...but i'll just post one at a time.
I would like to see truly dynamic OPs. An OP starts with a hack center and an underground entrance. Once occupied, the owning clan can go into a UI that allows the purchase and build of everything op related. This would include Walls, Shops, Bars, Defenses, GoGuardians, Clan Use GRs, etc. They would also have the ability to place Communication Towers and Satellite Link Towers (more on these later). Each OP would have its own power grid cap so the clan wouldn't be able to just plop 1000 turrets and call it good. Each item would have a power grid rating assigned to it. The UI would be grid based with snap to abilities so everything would line up properly and it wouldn't be glitchy. This would also allow a maximum distance items can be placed so the OP wouldn't be overpowered. When the OP is taken over, the Clan selects which type it is. The options for the type is based on the Lab, Mine, Fortress, etc. method we use now, but it would be based on its location on the map and its closest city influence. An Example is Gabanium could have the option to be an Uplink (because it's close to TH), Mine (because it's in the mountains) or a Lab (because it's close to TH). The type would be determined by selecting and buying a module and placing it on the UI grid.
This could change the Bonus System for OPs as well. It currently doesn't give much of a benefit to own an Uplink because it only allows the hack bonus in the zone where the OP is. If bonuses could be used in any Wasteland Zone you're in they would be much more valuable. It would also be beneficial to have the bonuses stack so owning multiple Uplinks would be beneficial. The amount of each bonus would be based on the amount of that bonus module that was purchased and placed (depending on the amount of available Power Grid.) The above mentioned Communication Towers and Satellite Uplinks would allow the ability to provide bonuses in various ways. The Communication Towers would allow OPs who have one placed to share the bonuses between the owned OPs. It would essentially keep the OPs "talking" to each other to the data that allows the bonus to be stacked. The Satellite Uplink would allow for the clan to place it and receive the ability to get Neocoms at the OPs as well as the ability to send the bonuses to the Faction HQ so all members of the faction would get a bonus based on the which OPs were owned by the faction. It wouldn't be as much as the owning clan, but still a decent amount.
The Placeables at OPs would almost all be able to be destroyed. They should have some serious HPs to make the attacking clan actually have to plan and work hard to take over an OP. This would also boost vehicle combat by adding Vehicle vs Object combat to the mix. The current midnight slip in and hack method doesn't seem like a good means to take over an OP.
The key to this working within our world would be maintaining a balance of Power Grid so no OP is overpowered; Keeping the HPs of placeables at a high lvl so the OP actually takes work to take over; making the placeables' price appropriate so clans have to plan out what they want instead of throw easy money at it; making the UI for the OP user friendly; and building on to the idea for future expansion of OP use.
I'd love some feedback and am willing to answer any questions on the idea if i wasn't clear on certain things.
These are both North American concerns more than 'overall nc.' I am a strong believer the key to population growth is population growth. North American players deserve to see the same action that European players do. Unfortunately, the disparity between online runners for NA/Europe is more than 10:1. Improving the NA experience will be a great boon for the whole playerbase.
Netcode improvement/"fix" - watching someone with a 50 ping float through walls and objects because you are sitting above 150 consistently makes 1v1 problematic. Additionally, the yoyo health is just infuriating.
Population growth assistance for low-pop hours. EG: tradeskill bots when pop drops below 5%
I'd like to see an actual reward for "rewards" granted by the game.
A great way to do this is to expand on the current "Title" and "Trophy" system. Currently when you complete an epic for a faction the word "Master" appears at the end of your name. Although I have never seen it, when you complete all epic quests you get the Title "Paladin." When you reach a high level or use a high lvl weapon your rank will go up on your name. When you are a specific rank in your clan that will appear on on your name.
Also, when you get a Warbot Trophy, you can place it in your apartment. You can place the Homegirl as well.
Why not expand on these two themes? Here are some ideas i have related to this...
*It'd be nice to be able to mount a "trophy" plaque on your wall when I complete the NCPD mission instead of get a dog tag that will sit in a cabinet.
*Get the title of "Explorer" when you tag every public GR in the game.
*Expand the Trophy database to have more MOBS
*Get the title of "Ceres Master X" where x = you WoC lvl
*Add the ability to wall mount an old weapon that you want to remember once it reaches 0 quality.
*Create a new UI to snap to placeables in your apartment so they can be easily moved.
*Have titles related to owning every OP over the course of your time in NC, Killing every MOB, doing the MB special mission, Tiki Quest and any others i may have missed.
It'd also be cool to have some sort of tracking book that would tell you how many mob kills, PVP kills vs clan/faction/alliance, OPs taken over, time in a specific zone, # of times defeating specialty dungeons, etc.
