Question Neocron on Apple MacBook Retina in a Windows VM :)

    Hi everybody

    Likely I'll have either a Macbook 12" Retina ( lovely screen ) or a MBA 11".

I have a licence for Windows 8 and shall run this in a VM on OSX.

Could you I run NC in this VM? Anybody try this?

    Macbook specs: intel Core M-5Y71 1.3 Ghz (2.9Ghz Turbo) + Intel HD Graphics 5300 + 8GB RAM
Macbook Air specs: Intel i7-5650U (3.2 GHz Turbo) + Intel HD Graphic 6000 + 8GB RAM

When playing NC I would only have Email and a web browser running on OSX at the most.

    Thanks,
    So

I read NC's specs are a Pentium 4 @ 2.4Gzh and DirectX version old. I think a VM with Windows 8 on an Intel Broadwell Core M should cut this, surely.

I prefer to run on bootcamp as then you have dedicated resources.

ok, looks like Boot Camp will be my solution.

Will NC run on an Intel Core M 1.3Ghz with 8Gb RAM and Bootcamped Windows 8?

Neocron's age means that currently a lot of it's graphics processing is actually handled by the CPU. Did you try the VM? What was performance like? If my ~2009 netbook can run Neocron at ~28fps I'm sure your VM should be fine.

Triv., you did not write which CPU your 2009 notebook had. They had i7-920 CPUs back in 2009/2010. Remember this is a poor old Core-M.
