Changing seats in vehicles

Simple proposition: Make it possible to change seats in vehicles without having to get out and in again.

One example is BF2 where you could change your seat in a vehicle with the function keys (F1-F4).

A more simple solution for NC would be pressing the TAB key once to change to the next seat in the vehicle, for example.

Is this just a way to make it possible for gentanks to solo in Rhinos?
I can't think of many uses for seat swapping except for making it easier to solo with a vehicle.

Although this would mean that someone can easily show up, shoot at people, then switch back to driving without risk, and this feature would only be available to classes that can both drive and gun.
Everyone else would still need a friend to gun, and would not gain any benefits.

After this they'd just need to add being able to repair from within a vehicle and it'd be the complete single player experience.

Kind of agree with the idea, but it would need to be dependant on the actual vechile itself.

Some of the vechiles clearly have everyone internal and they all go in through the same enterance, so could move around between stations (rhino, bomber, carrier). Others like the Reveler again are open enough to be able to switch but the person, but there isnt a direct route from driver / passenger to be able to move from seat to seat without going outside the car to then stepping up on to the gun.
Then you have all the problems with seat belts :P

These are valid points about the balancing.

I had only thought about the inconvenience of getting out the vehicle and having to re-enter, even having to send a request every time if you're not the owner.

We don't want to make vehicles too overpowered.

Use buttons 1-8 to swap seats.

Make it so if youre in team with owner you can go in and out as you please and choose your own seat.
