[INTENDED][R#179] Launcher opens Internet Explorer

The Launcher opens everytime the IE when i click a Weblink, instead of my favorite setted Browser in Win 7.

Thats due to the fact that the launcher uses an IE embed, so links clicked in the embedded IE will continue to be handled by the IE.
This behavior is not a bug.

IE(10) and most other MS products are superior to pretty much every "competitor" out there.
Anyways... This forum is not for MS vs. Unix vs. Apple vs. whatever crap you can come up with.

if you want to open links in your favourite browser, simply right-click on the link, and copy the short-cut, go to your browser and tada.

and fyi, a huge amount of applications and games use the internet explorer components of windows in their applications, you just don't see them as such, because they don't open in a new screen outside the application. For example for the longest time, steam used internet explorer for all it's stuff. they only changed to webkit because they were making the system cross-platform compatible.

I personally don't use IE for my main browsing, because i don't like the interface at all. but from an security viewpoint it has recently become far more secure (if you update) than any of the open source browsers, tested by numerous independent software security firms. That said, this all depends on you actually updating to the latest version, since the older versions of internet explorer are utter crap security wise.

fyi, chrome for example updates secretly behind the scenes every time you start it, which is why people don't see how many security vulnerabilities need to be fixed in it all the time.
