Does have the skin of the ion shotgun rifle in my inventory, but its a pistol.

I think this is an incorrect bug report.
The Ion Shotgun Rifle looks like this in the inventory:

Your Automatic Pistol Icon seems to be correct.

miniicon still shows a rifle for me, not a pistol.
