If you are silly and ALT+TAB at the login screen or character selection or server selection, then tab back into game, it is perma-black.
If you can remember were you are, and menu items etc, you can still succesfully navigate the GUI, blind.
Otherwise, ALT+F4 and start over again

I think that this is something to do with the DirectX version or something. It has happened to me a bunch of times. I cant remember why though. I am not teccy enough.
