There is a free skill reset firstly, but now you can tweak using insta-loms (they will stil cost exp though)

To activate this edit your neocron.ini , and add ENABLELOG = " TRUE"
This will cause an active log to be written named, yourcharname_00

This log will show valuable data regarding your movement speed ,resists and heals. Heals will be shown as negative dmg :

    eg:

Local Player: Damage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: -49.225 Target Fulldamage HitZone 3 - Part 0
    Results of this target: Damage -49.225 (Reduction: 0.000 - -0.000 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.920!

Thus the heal was ticking at 49/tick

DMG taken will be logged as follows:

Initial dmg -> shield resist->armor resist->-con resist->total resist (with the resist % accumulating each time)

    eg:
Local Player: Damage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: 40.910 Target Poison HitZone 3 - Part 0
    Damage: 6.474 (Reduction: 34.436 - 84.175 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 6.474 (Reduction: 34.436 - 84.175 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 4.880 (Reduction: 36.030 - 88.070 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 4.880 (Reduction: 36.030 - 88.070 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.920!

To understand this read as 40.9 initial dmg
Then 6.4 remaining dmg after an 84% shield (reducing dmg by 34)
Then 6.4 remaining dmg after no poison armor (accumulative resist of 84% is unchanged)
Then 4.8 remaining dmg after con (accumulative resist of 88%)
    Then final dmg of 4.8.

Since the values given are accumulative, you wont usually see the exact % from armor/con displayed ,as its added to the total but you can calculate them by
looking at the new dmg vs the old dmg on the line above...eg 4.8 remained from 6.4 => 1.6 was reduced , so 1.6/6.4*100 = 25%

Thus my con setup con gave me 25% , and this brought my total % from 84% to 88%.

..........just a quick note, since its retail now. Your old armor pieces may/will have ended up in the wrong slots and you cannot equip the new armors correctly.

To fix this just remove all current armor , then re-place it correctly.

Thanks a lot for this excellent summary/guide Kev - I think I'll give 2.2 a go afterall. Sounds like quite a lot has changed and mostly in the right direction.

    PvE update######################################

(Firstly , droning is generally unchanged, mobs die faster then the drone dies at approc the same rate as 2.1)

For everyone else , all mobs that have a ranged attack, will generally kill you faster then you can kill them. And mobs with ranged DOT attacks are very dangerous.(eg:fire/poison/radiation mobs)
This mob difficulty becomes apparant mostly after rank 10 mobs, and gets gradually harder as you progress higher. This makes pistol/melee hunting very difficult , but rifle hunting can still be effective provided you maintain max range to avoid most of the mobs dmg.

However, you can also still find viable non-ranged mobs if you look carefully. Swamp Warriors (in the swamp zones) are mid ranking mobs that can be safely soloed with any range weapon. And Regents Legacy is likewise a good spot for the higher lvl players as its full of non-ranged mobs.

Old places like el farid/swamp caves/chaos caves/DOY tunnels are very difficult currently and the general consensus is to simply take your team to regents legacy instead.

    Question

Sorry did I miss the bit on Trade Skills? I know CST has been drastically altered, but to what extent I'm not sure... what about the rest of the trade skills?

Also, don't forget PSI damage. Life was getting hit by mobs. We all tend to forget about PSR. This is how it works:

Initial dmg > PSR > shields (nanites/ppu shields) > Armor > Con skills

I suspect Life, that mobs that do stacked damaged, this damage is PSI kind damage. Since most -if not all- forget about PSR (absence of apus), they havent specced PSR at all. Let's take some readings on damage done from stacked mobs and see if what I say is right. It's important

Edit: i did it, and No. PSR does nothing at least in poison mobs inside chaos

this is a listing of hits made by a terromauler:
Local Playeramage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: 99.937 Target Force HitZone 2 - Part 0
    Damage: 77.540 (Reduction: 22.397 - 22.412 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 56.097 (Reduction: 43.840 - 43.867 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 42.757 (Reduction: 57.180 - 57.216 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 42.757 (Reduction: 57.180 - 57.216 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.800!

    Damage: 66.625 Target Fire HitZone 2 - Part 1
    Damage: 49.937 (Reduction: 16.688 - 25.048 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 40.048 (Reduction: 26.577 - 39.890 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 34.217 (Reduction: 32.408 - 48.642 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 34.217 (Reduction: 32.408 - 48.642 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.800!

its force/fire damage, but they shoot salvos of 3-4 fireballs each, which is a lot. This is what happens if you get hit by just one blob. Force is more important here. Damage registered is only this, but I lost at least 3x that. MAybe a bug, maybe damage doesnt register, I dunno

Following is a hit by poison inside chaos:
Local Playeramage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: 19.467 Target Poison HitZone 3 - Part 0
    Damage: 17.021 (Reduction: 2.446 - 12.567 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 13.147 (Reduction: 6.320 - 32.465 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 10.531 (Reduction: 8.936 - 45.904 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 10.531 (Reduction: 8.936 - 45.904 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.800!

Local Playeramage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: 19.467 Target Poison HitZone 3 - Part 0
    Damage: 17.028 (Reduction: 2.439 - 12.529 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 13.153 (Reduction: 6.314 - 32.436 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 10.535 (Reduction: 8.932 - 45.880 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 10.535 (Reduction: 8.932 - 45.880 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.800!

Local Playeramage() - Damage processing statistics!
    Damage: 19.467 Target Poison HitZone 3 - Part 0
    Damage: 17.035 (Reduction: 2.432 - 12.491 Percentage) - Damage reduced by shield
Damage: 13.158 (Reduction: 6.309 - 32.407 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player armor
Damage: 10.540 (Reduction: 8.927 - 45.857 Percentage) - Damage reduced by player skills
    Results of this target: Damage 10.540 (Reduction: 8.927 - 45.857 Percentage) - ResistanceCap: 0.800!

poison stacks all of them each hit is 7 stacks from what I count here. with my resists, this is something like 70 hp.

PSR plays no part ... pitty

ok, does that mean, when i have a Crahn Combat Core CPU implanted that the game recognizes me a hybrid and thus my heals lack quality?

i am a freshly transfered PPU and origin from saturn and already wondered why i lost so many powers :S

iirc it was based on the stats and not the implants.

    Update on Vehicles (jan/08)

MOB dmg will once again hit the an exposed gunner/driver/passenger (eg:reveller/combat hovertech/Scorpion trike)

So take more care when using those vehicles in PvE.

lol too late on that bud! I believe it was you who gave me a ride to Regants the other day and boom, a hover bomb kills me instantly while in the passenger side. I was actually surprised because I am pretty sure in 2.1 while in vehicle, damage would take effect on the vehicle only. :S oh well. More realistic I guess.
