Weapon discussion: Hacknet combat category
We tried to make the hackers’ life within Hacknet easier in this category – therefore there are a few changes that will be tested and fine-tuned by us. One thing to note right away: During the balancing project, we won’t be able to implement any additional changes that would improve the variety in Hacknet.
First, the general Hacknet changes:
The calculation for the health, stamina and hacking (replaces PSI energy) values have been changed – the influence of the main skill Intelligence and the subskill Hacking have been increased, which results in higher values.
Furthermore, the hacker has received a special resistance calculation for energy and x-ray (the only damage types in Hacknet) – these calculations are also based on Intelligence and Hacking. We have decided on this solution because a Hacker’s possibilities to skill in the pure subskills are very limited.
These changes only apply inside the Hacknet – in normal sectors, the Hacker is treated like all other runners.
The existing weapons have been checked and restructured – however they are still based (from a technical point of view) on PSI modules. An overview of the weapons:

All Hacknet modules exist in at least 3 variations (respectively strengths) – in addition there’s a rare version for each. All Hacknet modules are balanced with a HighTech status, the classification of their properties is based on the values for APU and PPU modules.
