Alternative Crosshair now legal?

Hi,

is it now legal to use an alternative crosshair instead of the custom?

Only found 3y old statements by Snowcrash and Nidhogg

Official statement would be nice

You can take Nidhogg's statement as official. Modifications of the crosshair are still prohibited.
