I was just wondering about the APUs state in the game, I just wondering how balanced it is compaired to the other classes. It is supposed to be the highest damage class so I just wanted to ask how it's going, any info is appreciated.

Hehe good question as I spent most of my pvp tonight on my APU.
There are a few problems with the APU at this point. Their damage has been nerfed a tad bit too much to the point where it makes their lack of con and speed an almost unavoidable detriment. I suppose through massive drugging this could be counter acted.
I would say this if you're considering an APU. Try another class first, probably a spy or tank until you get the hang of pvp The APU is probably my favorite combat class to play, however you need to have a pretty good understanding of the way the game works before you can be very good with an APU as you need to have a perfect balance between con/speed and offense.
I hope this rambling post of mine offers some sort of help, I'm drunk.
Thanks, I asked because I already had an APU from before and was wondering if it was possible to play it now, so thanks a lot for the info, it really helped.
The main strategy as an apu is : aim, shot, hide behind a wall while the spell is casted, stop hiding, aim, shot etc...
But if you fight a ppued char, you can quit, even more if you fight a spy ppu buffed with psi resists (which nerfed even more the apu as the spy would only take let's say 40 damage from a fireapoc in the head)
So it's basically that the APUs are doing less damage then they really should?
i allways play apu i have never stoped i think there ar still just as much fun as there ages ago but they should have stacking spells again
Am I understanding correctly from Seraphin's post that Resist PSI skill finally does something?
Or does it just seem like Resist PSI works because APU damage has been lowered overall?
solo pvp they can't stand their own, but I hear they do quite well in ops.
Nah resist PSI does actually workQuote:

Basically practice, you will be squishy, and you won't do as much dmg as you should. You will die a lot and once your good, you'll still die a lot, but you'll kill a lot too. Have fun.
yes they do, i stand pretty solid on my apu with a ppu, constant apoc to the face will drop anyone :DQuote:

You cannot survive in an opwar unless you have a dedicated ppu on your back, a dedicated wall for the clipping, and people stupid enought not to kill your legs (unless you use some tactics)
well....apus for attacking an OP are hard if you are outnumbered, but if numbers are equals or if you use your apu to defend an OP, then it gets pretty interesting, but the key is to have more than one apu, so you can hammer the same target and it will drop quick.
Still, I agree with Beldaran that spells should be stackable again, like poison and fire.
I think it's a bit of a shame.
I used to like coming up against monks. It was nice seeing the HL and FA effects in PvP.
I'd vote - increase the damage the APU does overall, but keep the barrel damage the same. That way, it remains useful, but doesn't ruin op fights.
Also, bring back stacking poison and fire. What was wrong with these damage types stacking? Nothing in game got my heart beating faster than having 4 or 5 poison stacks; RUNNING away, then trying to outheal it before imminent death. Not to mention that unmistakable sound of the poison beam!
They were broken with this almighty patch we had in December 2007... they should have been fixed by now, as should melee.
shame things will never change.
