Wow, I should have known I had to check up on this thread more. But organizing a 230+ person marriage consumes a lot of time.

Ah well, as a general update for you all (those who know me :p)
I'm getting married the 30th of April and I generally lack the time to play MMO games. I still play a lot of games, both PS2 and PC games, but mainly PC games. Most games I play are single player.

I also played Battlefield 2142, I got the update, I haven't booted the game for over 3 months or so :( no time :(:(

I'm also busy with my career and I'm advancing quiet nicely at the moment. I'm well on my way to become a software architect, which would mean even more dough and benefits.

That's about it. I'll pop in sometime... later... could be another 2-3 weeks :p

They were mean to me some time ago, told me "remove all .zip files and whatnot or we will be forced to remove all your files and discontinue your site".

Just because I had a few gigs of traffic on the skillmanager back then.


So i changed to someone called www.needhost.dk dont know if they have an international site, and asked them what their policy was, and they said as long as it wasn't illegal stuff, or porn, they didn't really care what I had on my site, or what I used it for.

I asked about bandwidth beforehand too, and they said 8 gigs per month was what they had set as an undefined limit, but since i had multiple domains it would be 16 gigs, then i asked what happened if i went over it, and they said, well if its only a month or two, then we dont see it as a problem, if its over longer periods, like 6 months or so, i would have to pay about 1 euro extra for another 8 gbs, which is unbelievably cheap, so I thought, well no way in hell am i ending up even near those limits, so i took it, and it's worked almost without problems since.

The only real problem i had, was when they changed from linux to windows servers, the new CMS was way different than the old.


But b-one really is a good place at low price, as long as they dont do shit like that.

I got 2 domains for blogging purposes (one english on a german url and one dutch on a be url)

I also host some files that I like to share, but they are behind .htaccess and .htpassword files

Also I'm writing on this forum trough a webproxy in that secret directory. damn bluecoat webproxy bans all game sites :(:( it's a fucking pain in the ass.

oh well ... at least I found a way around it :D:)

Would really love to come back but just don't want to ruin the 'fantasy' of what once was if that makes sense. Good to read what's going on and who knows maybe one day i'll convince the old clan to come back and take over the server again, but only if we get GM help :P - Also we'd need to get Rizzys life ban dropped... hmmm could be harder than i though heheh.

Haha, he was the single most annoying person i have ever met in NC. He just kept talking bullshit all the fucking time. I loved ganking him. :)

hahahaha that screenie is great. That guy was just anti-pvp, full stop. He hated the gankers (mainly NCAT) and hated the people who killed the gankers equally as much. I wish he could have made his damn mind up.

NC1 was mental, very much a different game than today.

Wish alot of them (friends and enemies) stayed twas really fun, whats amuseing is there was less lag then (unless something has changed in 2.2).

I remember it fondly, and is a large part of the neocrack that keeps bringing my old raggid ass back from when it all started for me in 2002..

Just bumped into an old NC face in another game (which shall not be named for obvious reasons) and it all came flooding back.

Blue Tech, Nerd, Keyser Sose, Megaman, JOAT, Op Wars with System Shock, the wierd twisty man with a red name that fell from the sky, FUKING (still got the pics that were taken, if niddy doesn't threaten me with the hammer I may dig them out :P ), Seeing devs in Stormbot suits walking about, Rico spawning Desert mobs in Plaza 1 and the only way anyone could damage them was zapping them with hacktools, Appearing on German TV in Beta 3...

Reefie! Fl4wl3ss getting called a turd in a preview PCGamer for ganking the reviewers char over and over in the sewers...

Funny to see some of the old names. *looks at milksh@ke*. Just started one account again today, but I can't recall how the game works and I found my chars with all points free :eek:
