Accounts are deleted after 3 months pass without payment, yes? If so, perhaps this should be lifted until DoY - in favour of those of us who aren't pleased with your product now and want to wait until DoY comes out, but don't want to lose all the work we've put in to items and characters. You have us all chasing vapourware pretty much right now, your track record isn't exactly credible in the slightest, no offense... and just about everyone is hanging in here JUST for DoY... in the event that the skeptists are right, what are you going to do in september, refund a hundred thousand+ USD for the months of subscriptions we've been paying to keep our characters alive in hopes that you finally deliver on your word? Just simplify it and let those of us who don't want to pay for your current 'product' go without until your product is released. I speak not so much for myself, but for my best friend who's cancelled his account in frusteration (although he does have a shitload of my items, heh) and anyone else who's just absolutey fed up with the laundry list of problems we face on a daily basis.
One thing i dont get.
Does KK (or 10T) really believe that releasing DoY after the summer is a good move? Games like Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, MoX (possibly), City of Heros (maybe) and Warhammer online will probably be out by then. Neocron will already be surpassed by these games in technical terms (like grafics). These games have been hyped a lot so tons of people will go there. These games will probably get a worldwide open beta before hand so that people can check them out. These games will absorb most of the playerbase that is looking for a new MMORPG. By releasing Neocron at that time (unless the publisher turns out to be Ubisoft or something) 10T and KK will have to go up against the big players in the industry who got a shitload of cash to advertise and support their products. Does KK really want to do that? Do they believe that they can emerge victorious in this fight?

All the wierdness mumbely about things like this should have been already in the start of retail not in an expansion. Sure one might think like that but be happy it gets introduced at all thats one way you can look at it too. Think the time a database fuckup happened and you lost your stuff and got 100k, but instead with the expansion KK might have more money to build better tools and better db's than in the beginning and might be able to give you your precious stuff back, and thats a bad thing?
Some ppl say ooooo im gonna go play half life 2 and doom 3 fuck nc and doy!:) yeah sure for what 3 weeks? then thats that.. you wont be getting more content from a straight fps game anyways. if there isnt expansions but thats what 1 more day of playing, so compairisons like that is just wierd.
Sure people can be upset about stuff beeing postponed all the time, but it's not the end of the fucking world :). As others have said it's more hands than just KK's in the game here, dates might change, ideas might change, community ideas might be considered and shit like that. But somewhere the line must be drawn and now it's set 1'st of September.
Funnily enough, KK hasn't honored said '3months=deletion' rule. They plan to begin upholding it when DoY comes.Quote:

Well taking the last couple of "promises" or relase times noone knows if it's going to come september 1'st. But the other doy relase discussions have been in the span of quarters of a year this time they say the date and the month. So taking that into consideration it feels alot more authentic or real than 3rd Q 2004. Before when they said quarters all the ideas and stuff sorrounding doy may or not have been finnished. Now they might have drawn the line of where to come up with more and more and said this is what's going to happen, other ideas will be implemented with patches instead of delaying the release further.
If it's not released during September even I will become alittle sceptical about all the stuff and get alittle bit annoyed. They would need to come up with a really good excuse for delaying the release this time for me to "buy" it even further.

It's all very well having a great PvP system, but if there's no-one to fight it's a bit pointless.
First of all, I would like to thank KK for the fun I have had in this game. At some times in this game it has really been great.
I would like to thank MJS and all the staff behind him. You did a good job.
BUT
I am bored with this game atm I have seen everything (and that's not very much) the only thing which holds this game together is PvP, and that is ruined atm imo.
I cannot understand how, you MJS, can honestly believe that you will be able to compete with WoW, EQ2 ect. you could probably have kept people ingame till they launched, but then it would be over. Now you just digged NCs own grave. I planned on playing DoY till WoW came, but now I can just as well cancel my account - so that's what I'm gonna do.
To KK: You should never have waited so long with the expansion. You should never have lied to your community. You should have been more honest and open - telling people what you were doing and not doing sneaky patch changes ect. You should have fixed the bugs which have been here since beta.
I have met quite a few cool people in NC, I guess I'll cya in WoW :)

Xizor, KK is fortunate that this seems to be the only good game of it's genre in the mmorpg market.
I don't think NC will be competing directly with WoW or EQ2.

"what are the patch / content plans between now and DoY release"
i for one find it exceedingly worrying that NOONE has responded. if MJS as the CEO of the company cant comment on that, who the fuck can?
personally i suspect its because there will be no major updates. they will just save it all up for DoY.
havent logged on for weeks tbh, so am thinking of cancelling both my accounts (no i dont expect you to care) and if the 3 month account wipe thing is true, i wont even be bothering to come back and try DoY
