only proper woc weapons are swat and ak anyway... every tank uses normal rares, every ppu/apu uses normal rares, lots of people use rare rifles instead of woc rifles (dissy is more powerful than ak...), so what's the big deal? I mean, I've got 3 wocced chars, but the only char i use woc on is my ppu, and that's change when i got his setup properly setup (woc pa is slow...)

Balancing didn't work and we haven't been patched in over a year. Even then it mostly made DoY a redudant "expansion" pack.
I'd say there's less cookie cuttering than before. It's not perfect, but I doubt it ever will be. Plus I'd say the game is a lot more balanced than it ever has been. People look back at NC1 as this golden era, but frankly, so much of it was horribly broken.Quote:

In my opinion, it was almost as balanced back then as it is now. People just didn't know how to spec their characters. Some of us did, and we were branded as 'unbalanced'. Far more setups were possible in NC1, whereas now, it's the same damn thing over and over again. It's become predictable and generic. All balancing has really done has removed several setups from the game.
I hate balancing. Excessive balancing killed the Cron.
I'd still say the number of viable weapon options is a lot better than it has been. How many different weapons do you see people use on their PEs these days? Not just the xbow, but slasher, reaper, IAR, freeman. Some people still use camo and regants PA (though a bit rare).
What was good about NC1 was the skill/effect ratio. More PC/RC/whatever had a bigger effect than it does now, plus attaining freq cap on weapons wasn't easy (I only did it on my Judge when I was Kami). Which meant swapping a pistol 3 for a moveon was a viable option and something that is missing from NC atm. But the current situation is much better than NC2.
But that's all it is. PE's and spies. No melee tanks, no melee pe's either, no hybrids, no apu's, no heavy pe's, no rezzing pe's, no variety.

Also what sucks is the friends and peopel who made nc fun are all gone. Driven away by the game they make good.
