Now I believe there is a tolerance level we all have, some of us are able to
tolerate this deadline fiasco differently from others no doubt. According to
some of you, the release date works nicely into your life schedule, to others
this deadline is a problem. Unfortunately, everyone is not the same person
and KK can't pick a date that will be suitable for everyone and their lifestyle.
Obviously, some of you will throw that out cause bdoy should already be
available, but according to MJS certain game updates prolonged the deadline.
This thread is proof that people only focus on the negative things in life, not
the positive. A girl could get ran over by a truck and end up on the news as a
freak accident and people will be saying "oh here about that girl who got hit by the truck", yet if a brave kid saved her life, it wouldn't be on the news and
people wouldn't be talking about it. We all yearn for drama is my point.
Who here from beta 4 remembers KK promising vehicles as a future feature
enhancement only to find it patched into the game at the end of beta? Didn't
we all see those vehicles in the ASG stores and wish they were ingame cause
they looked so, excuse my language, fucking cool!? Then remember the day it
finally happened, they added it to the game and it took me an hour to download
that huge patch file and instantly went to outzone subway genrep to get to the jericko ASG only to see the crowd of people marveling at the first 4 vehicles
introduced. Vehicles were the shiznit then, but now they are useless mostly.
Point is, they came through and gave us a end beta4 present sorta speak. I
don't remember anyone talking about this? But everyone anticipated it's arrival!
Same with the dogtags for bounty hunting, we all wanted it badly then saw it
in the patch notes and wowed all over for it. But now, we all don't use it.. It's
another useless feature. It's not KK's fault entirely, partially is due to execution,
but KK can only give us the paint brushes, we have to paint the picture.
The truth is, KK has already survived miracles! Who woulda thought a little
company could front some money, take a half broken and outdated Genesis3D engine, add their own unique lanscaping engine touch to it, add netcode, scripting, audio, engine updates, etc etc etc and come to what is now neocron
after many many many many improvements, additions, and changes? No one
but KK knows this.
Now imagine, most of us vets are from beta4 and oldies from beta 2 and 3.
We are still playing this game, some of us got our friend to play cause it's so
good, heck even our family or girlfriends (O_o). The servercounts are from
beta players and shelf buyers. Think about how poorly CDV did on advertising
neocron and how long it has lasted until now? Imagine if neocron advertised
on commercials, on major websites, major stores etc, Neocron would get enough
new players to replace all of the forum users + half the current population easily
but of course with time!
So let us all cancel our accounts and let the 12 yr old newcommers take over the game and change it during the summer, but as long as I'm here and have
a voice, i'm not going anywhere and neither should anyone else if you support
this game and have faith it will succeed because it has already done so in my
eyes soley on it's potential.
I hope some of you will reconsider your leaves, especially the vets. We are the
ones that helped shape the game to what it is, from nagging to nerfs to
helping out newcommers learn the ropes and just about everything else we
put our share of time into helping the game exceed it's potential locked in
the clam shell.
The deadline sucks no shit, the expansion costs suck no shit. But, we love
the game so lets embrace it and support the company who gave us the priviledge
to play it and help sculpt it. I have faith, and i'm not the religious type either.
