Yeah.
And maybe they could remove the "zoning"-feature.
So that you don't have this ugly "synchronize" window.
And that you don't lose aggro when you "zone".

seeing kirks reply about neocron reloaded brings tears to my eyes.

Hmm the paid Version of Unity actually supports streaming content (loading on demand in background) so a seamless world should be doable with it. Would be cool to have that.Quote:

Think about it: Some of your best loved NC moments might have never happened if caves were instanced.
Want to be able to PvE without disturbances? Keep the LE in and go look for the not so popular places. NC even in the 2.2 iteration has a lot more viable leveling spots than just regant's legacy. Actually the only thing not working good in NC 2.2 are the poison caves because of the misbalanced high leveled toxic NPCs.
don't forget graves.. that is like insta-death...
That Zoningfeature is not removeable in its current state. The sectors would overlie over each other in neocron. :PQuote:

Unity has a feature for world streaming, you can load junks of world terrain data while the player is approaching them... Used it myself and it works quite well.
Well, I was quite stunned last night by the Neocron Reloaded news in a very good way. Remaking Neocron using the current Neocron assets using the Unity engine is quite a good move.
Now that I'm come down to earth, I have some questions, that I haven't seen answers to.
1. How long has Nukklear been about? I notice the domain was registered in Aug 2009, a few months before the first insolvency of Reakktor ended in Nov 2009.
2. How long has Nukklear owned the Neocron assets?
3. What will happen to the current Neocron servers when Neocron Reloaded is released? Will there be patches in the meantime?
4. Without using the word "Soon(tm)" when will Neocron Reloaded be released? ;)
:wtf: Why should they patch current NC? NC:R is the solution to the mess, they will focus on that.Quote:

well lots of us have invested huge amounts of time and effort in our current ingame status/gear, and would like to play this game at least till NC:R releases, and the current state kind of prohibits that.Quote:

YES = Reworked Neocron under Reakktor (probably with Unity as P2P)
NO = Neocron Reloaded under NuKKlear (F2P Browsergame)

Theyve already stated the code is next to impossible to work with, within their vision, glad to see some new direction for neocron.
Its code is rather prehistoric at this point, take its essence and mold some new masterpiece :)
Will help curb all these current script kiddies also
Sure, for some time after launch.Quote:

w8 & c
There is anti-cheat software out there for that. Also, i remember reading here somewhere that NC has alot of cheating due to the client.exe coding. Change the way it handles data and its harder to cheat.Quote:

Kirk...well played sir. Well played! :D
I've split this from the server move thread as I'm sure you will all agree, this deserves a topic of it's very own. ;)
I quickly put up a a short video. Its a slowed down version of the demo we saw in nukklear website. :)
There already seems to be some slight changes there and here. Not much thought, but it seems alienware has been left out now.

Please excuse my english language.
This is great news. Muchos respect, Kirk.
For my part, I would not mind a subscription giving access to all as we know it now and a system F2P giving penalty for xp and money when you kill a mob.
Some objects could not be bought in game for F2P players, but only through the Itemshop. As such, the apartments and furniture.
And to avoid transactions between players subscription and players F2P , it would have sold the objects in game are identical to those of the Itemshop but not used by F2P players.
I am glad that you want to save Neocron, I hope it will materialize, I would be the first to sign.
Please excuse my english language.
for years, i've been saying to use the current asset and port it to a new engine... NC reloaded proves it. Now unity based engine (april 2k9 was the date that unity community asked for a linux support never saw it officially being tagged as "started") ... errr... really? no linux client support? F2P model based + micro transaction? wallet-warriors freaks + WoWish morrons/whiners/carebears + K-"-8" kids, no thanks.
Mr. Trip, i think that if you host a classic NC server i would be playing there!
@Kirk, can we use the NC assets and port to D3 engine? qt is being implemented so we can enjoy cross-platform editing...
LOL really this is what you bring to the table? troll b riding durtyQuote:

Like with real life fashion, a lot of people will want to pay high prices just to get something other people cannot afford, because they want to show off. :) Leaks, riots, and monocles: how a $60 in-game item almost destroyed EVE Online, Ben Kuchera, ars technica, 2011-07-11
— It does not really do any harm as long as these items don't give hard advantages but DO allow people to skip the grinding if they do not have time to get large amounts of money ingame.
It is fair to let people buy in-game cash because it equalises people who have to spend real life time doing constructive things in the real world, with those who can play all the time. It also is good for giving motivation to those people who otherwise would just play games all the time that contributing to the real world is also important, not just games. ;)

Just a brief comment about the instancing idea as a few people have remained adamant about NOT including it and it was me who brought it to the thread.
I have been reading another mmo forums briefly (the other day) which is heavily instanced in all aspects of its game and the people there are complaining about the lack of world pvp (i love that term. so dumb. its not world pvp. its ganking) and by now im sure you can guess im talkin about wow.
basically they are saying they want MORE world pvp as all everyone does is queue for pvp instances (arena/battleground) and sits in one of the capital cities all day.
So. No. skip the instancing idea. pvp in levelling spots is waaaaaaaaay more fun. the video looks awesome. im still confused however as to what the short term/long term plans are.
In a nutshell the plan is to redo NC as it is in unity as a short term goal to revitalise the company. Long term is nc3.
so what happens with the current NC as we have right now (2.2)? just switch it off eventually.
ok. one thing i would like to ask and im sure people would agree.
Can we please reserve names for chars for the future. Some of us are attached to them. some of us dont run the risk of losing them as they are very unique. im sure others do. i know i would. and i would cry. alot. ;)
other than this jesus i really do wish i could help out in some way. i will help in anyway poss. :)
