exactly my thoughts, and if you add me, that i count for 5, AD totals @ 17 :p, while at the same time we should subtract 2, making ATF @ 9 due to Nabbl's presence :angel:Quote:

Just that there are lamers and noobs, don't mean it's dead.
And OP wars aren't the only important thing, roleplay is one more option.
Why so little people? Well, only a few or several people even support NC, becouse of BP!
I'm Neocron Supporter all the way.

The fact is that neocron is 'unique' that is what brought so many players over the years and although i generally dont like scifi i felt i fitted in with this game. Truth is if neo dies then so does my mmo life, ive tried other games but always come back, most other games look the same and play the same and get boring extemely quickly. I hope that kk can make a success of their new game but i cant really see hardcore eve gamers leaving to play it, so im not sure who kk think will play it. It is odd that even though neocron has such a hardcore following that these people will be dropped for a game that is new to kk and potentially a huge risk. I hope KK genuinely learn from the way they have run neocron because if they mess the new game about there are very similar games for people to run to instead and kk will probably end up with nothing. I would like to also point out that a few people have mention that kk dont have the resources of bigger companies like blizzard, well i imagine blizzard started off small, they just made the right decisions at the right time, that is what kk have failed to do.
Finally (sorry its taken so long to get to this point). When things needed to be sorted, kk were to busy changing things that didnt really need changing for example moving around shops that were in nc1 to different locations in nc2, moving the guards from around gaia, moving sewer entrances to new locations, changing models even though the community prefered old style chars, imo this was needless, also new weapons that werent better than old ones. I just hope that theres someone out there talented enough and has enough ambition to make something similar to this, i know if i had the skills id be doing it. Infact neocron where you could get ina spaceship to go mining or something should have been the natural progression but ah well im here till the end.
P.s. will kk pay for my counselling that i wil need if neo ends :)
Gunslinger, i think they will be broke if NC dies and they will not be able to pay the counseling to many of us :( ... so we should make an association for the NC depressed addicteds and to gain funds from now on... :p
To be perfecly honest, what really kills NC is people with both Return keys broken down.Quote:

and as for the fatals, do they even have an idea as to why they happen or attempt to fix these. they really should come out and make a statement on these and tell us what the actual problem is and why they cant fix it.
now i have only just reactivated since quitting after 2.0 but the devs seem very distant with the community, why is that? it doesnt take long to keep people updated. anyhow i did hear about 2.3 tho, i think its a small step but its better than nothing.
Did you not see the whole Black Prophecy announcement? KK have pulled all their resources from Neocron and put them towards their new game.Quote:

bullshit
If what you say is true, why are we still playing? Why are KK still working on it? Maybe because it is NOT DEAD?????Quote:

i think 5 to 10 people from a clan is enough to make op fights and have fun u dont NEED 20 + people in order to op fight *cough* soldierz *cough* ;)
20 vs 20 is cool tho but 10 vs 20 is not so much fun been on both sides of that :p
Whats with these Soldierz digs - sure at our peak we had a lot of members, but in recent months Hells had big numbers, as did After Dark on a few occasions. The history of Neocron has seen many clans regularly outnumber all other challengers, and Soldierz would come quite low on that list.
The problem is that if you get those kind of numbers these days no other clan can match it. And then people get bored of op fighting and there are less fights.
In the past there was always a big enough pool of players that things changed quickly, now you have two types of Neocron player. The addicts who play all day long, and the capped players who log on for the occasional fight, or bring their whole gang of mates accross from WoW whenever their ops get attacked (R2K, FF, Terrarists etc).
Neocron is now a skeleton mmo, but as Lore says, there can be some fun had from small numbered op fights, it just makes it harder to actually take ops with a team of 4 or 5. I personally preferred the 15 v 15's you used to get in Neocron 1 and 2.0, epic battles were great.
Used to be in a clan who had some honour about them, if you outnumbered the oposition by a stupid amount some of the group would hang back to give them a fair fight.Quote:

Well point i was slowly making was that there seemed to be more going on, you'd actualyl get more than one clan fighting, last time i opped recently, spent half the time looking at a wireless trying to find out whether there was enough people on to actually fight.
And that kinda kills it for me, op fights should be about ya wanting to own the op, beat on the pro's and make the map a pretty colour, so it really breaks the whole fighting mood when ya have to search for opponents.
Well in last couple months clans whos still OP figthing have got decent fights almoust every day.
But even if KK are doing something to thise game Im not exepting any miracles. I have been here somethign like 5 years and even NC2 didnt bring the things what KK promised, Evo 2,1 Oh ye what we got? models etc..? Evo 2.2 FFS BALANCED NC WERE?
KK have promised to fix the code too many times and they still havent done it. Only couple weapons are only used why there cant be many weapons which are doing decent dmg on fights? So were are our group epics, mechwarrior, whats Hacknet, some place were u jump level to level. Are there any players even in??
Tell you all what the situation is with NC2.2 for me, and that's I'm not renewing my subscription until I see some posistive progress (a decent patch that addresses the above).
... got a feeling that won't happen though. I'd rather play the BF2 demo or CS Source for free and get some proper action at the mo.
C'mon KK, get it together and don't forsake those who have put in so many hours into your creation.
Someone would think that ppl learn after 5 years, that nc is not the prime example of an ego shooter.
And yet they are still comparing Apples with Aeroplanes, because they look alike at the beginning
i just want my sunglasses to wear em when i take nermal out for a fat pizza oh and a cigarette after a fine BuKKaKe :D
well the char classes are fine for me hm the apu is abit to weak, the weapons are fucked up all you see are creed/dev/ion cannon xbow/beretta ah where are the good old days wich nearly every weapon whas used to pown k that whas monkocron i enjoyd it more then the piece of .... we got yet.
mobs are realy overpowerd (if u find some in the wastelands)at mom but that could be its nearly impossible to solohunt exept savespot places but we arent playing Wow ffs
PvP hm dunno am not that great PvPer i get my kicks in OP fights and not at pp1.
some small patches each week would be nice just to tell ppl hey you guys still play/pay for this game ok we keep working on em
Yea i havent played NC for about a month now (well i have logged in a few times to say hallo), and i must say.. I dont really miss it.. I miss the ppl i usually talk, and ofc i miss the shit talking on OOC.
But i dont miss playing and paying for a abandoned game, that are buggy as hell, and where pvp is almost impossible to enjoy due to clipping idiots.
Only my primary account are still active now, and i wont activate the old one again.. so rest in peace Danish Rage :(
Uh yea the reason why i havent logged in, in about a month is my gfx card that fucked up.. still waiting to get a new one :(
So maybe its just this "long" break from NC that makes me not miss it, i dunno tbh (yea 1 month is the longest break ive had from NC in the about 3 years i have played  ).
Ps. Nid - Read: primary account are still active (just renewed that one about a week ago).
The server I admin for in Battlefield 2 has 64 players at all times.... whats your point?Quote:

IF you guys get bored of playing nc you quit, go install another game and play that for a bit. I have gotten bored of it so many times its untrue, but I have gone away, fired up battlefield and come back here a few months later refreshed and revitalised.
There are 101 things wrong with this game, just the same as any other (this one has more) but there is still lasting appeal in it because you boys and girls are still here talking about it. The fact that you come onto the forum tells me that you must have some form of interest in it still because you bother to post.
NC for me is not about the fights, never has been. It prolly is just a giant IRC Channel these days and sure I like it like that. I dont need my ego stroking here either, i have plenty of other places to get that. Still there is a certain something which gets my attention for a few months at least once or twice a year and for that I will continue to pay my subscriptions and help the new kids who come along and stuff.
I have to say though, I laughed my ass off at all the idiots who said a certain large TT clan were here to stay a few months ago.
If you want to point to stuff that kills the game its usually (most often) the zergs back and forth between the biggest clans locking down their ops and wanting to be top dog for a while.
On every server i have played nc (1 and 2) this has happened, one big clan or another rises to the top, has their 2 weeks; locks their ops/whines about other clans/act like complete a-holes and slowly the population trickles down.
Average population now is best 2/3 of what it was 6 months ago I can assure you of that.
The question to ask yourselves is "what am I doing to help it?"
Hate to agree with Antrim but aye, whenever i get bored of the same stuff NC had to offer i fire up my xbox live account, play a bit of cs and maybe even crack open a bit of planetside, so when i return to NC im all excited and playing with the happyness i had when i joined :D
That is because these are types of young'uns that get a kick out of power-trippin at anothers expense. They do whatever they can to win win win, and will winge all day if they loose, blaming anything they can...Quote:

I hate to point this out to you, but roleplay will never, ever be even a small part of Neocron. It's not because the environment isn't good for great RP. It's because the majority of people who play it also play games like Quake, Counter Strike, Unreal Tournament, etc. Those games are meant for one thing. Find moving target. Make it stop moving.Quote:

I personally lost a fully capped character and all it's gear plus other items I had been preparing for the migration to the new NC2 servers and database. About 2 weeks prior to NC2 launch, the server I played on had a massive coronary and the server was rolled back to the most recent backup, which just happened to be about 2 weeks before the rollback. Lots of people were pissed. Lots of them left. KK only said "oops".
2. Hacknet. In its current form, unless things have changed drastically in the 2 years it has been since I last played on a daily basis, hacknet was a buggy, quirky joke. Defending an outpost from attack on the hacknet layer was hit and miss. Player skill didn't play much into whether or not you could defend or take the hacknet layer. It all depended on who lagged first.
3. KK has a habit of making huge changes to gameplay on the fly. Back in the earlier days of NC1, things changed from patch to patch in the name of balance. Now, 5 years later, things are still changing from patch to patch in the name of balance. The MMO I am currently playing has adopted this philosophy themselves by making broad, sweeping changes in the name of balance.
4. Too many servers. Not enough players. In NC1, KK kept pluto alive even though it only had a max of 30 or 40 people on at a time, during peak hours. Mostly, folks left pluto and went to another server, the rest just plain quit.
Honestly though. When it comes down to it...if you enjoy the game...keep playing. Screw the people who come here and do nothing but bash the game or KK. They're fair weather friends and the game isn't improved by the presence.
I play the game because I enjoy the game even with all its numerous faults.
When people complain about Fatals, synching etc. I smile to myself because thats NC, always has been, unpolished and unfinished.
yes it could be better, far better but it's not going to get a new engine, or massive FIX ALL patch.
I for one am just glad that it's still here, ticking along and do not look forward to it's inevitable closure in the hopefully distant future.
Every game ends, lets not get into economics :p
In my time though i have never seen the server pops so low, i log in every night to under 10%, Hopefully KK will patch something at some point soon to keep those who are waining.
Good Hunting.
Logan.
Pops are sliding each week, some nights there are not enough people on for any op fights, not even 5 v 5, like tonight. If there are active people that will play with a patch released, then I hope the patch comes real soon... :(
