page 28 is mine (unintentional)
any further news? regards patching or otherwise?
in the past few years the only way to get answers has been on the black prophecy forums, hell, its where most of the information about nc2 and nc3 has been given as well.
like with the anticheat patch, they probably wont announce anything, just shut the servers down, apply a patch, post that its patched, find out its fucked up and ignore us for another few years. it might sound harsh, but just stating the truth about how it happened...
lol.
i was just hoping maybe chenoa would see it and say somethin.
been thinking of playing again but im not sure i want to suffer the harsh reality of whats happening. bp doesnt work for me. however if it was monthly paid i would actually probably subscribe and not play just to support the game and hopefully get some love sent this way. same with this if subs were reactivated.
if im totally honest i think alot of people wouldnt mind shelling out a small fee on a regular basis if it meant somewhere down the line things would start moving again.
however i think before that people would want to see more info or more regular communication from the team even if its just to say bear with us. its one of the big reasons im attracted to APB besides the game itself.
well some people have been trying to get me to play again by saying most of the cheaters have been banned (even though some of them are already playing again), but since neocron won't run on this pc atm I haven't been able to see for myself.
for those few that remember natural selection (a mod for halflife back in the day), here's an example of the exact opposite of reakktor as far as communication is concerned: http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2 << this will be one of the best indi shooters in the coming years.
actually ns2 should have been up and running in alpha mode two years ago... not to mention, that the netcode still totally completely sucks.Quote:

I don't know if you have played the game recently or at all keep up with the development, but those things that were considered netcode issues, were in fact solved within 2 weeks after they were discovered (they were hitbox issues), as are about 99% of all bugs. hell, the game runs better in its beta stage than nc ever did, even though it's running on an engine built from scratch by one person in a few years.
since this has absolutely nothing to do with the topic let this be my final word on ns2: its been in development over 5 years now and still totally unplayable. ns1 ran great. i even played in a clan back in the days and had tons of fun with it. ns2 is just a poor excuse for a money grab. it will be the exact same game with some minor tweaks and there's no way of telling, when or even IF we will ever be able to play this game for real. not just for the lulz of testing.Quote:

i really don't understand what you're going on about, the game is running absolutely smoothly, and has been for months. The game itself is completely different due to the tech point system and dynamic infestation, it's far more mature than ns ever was (and yes, I've played ns for about 5 years, 3 of which in an actively competing clan).Quote:

Hell, halflife 1 took that long, half life 2 took even longer to develop.
And how is 20 dollar a money grab for a game that's in its current beta state already more fun to play than 90% of the games I bought for twice that? Maybe your pc can't run it due to some problem, but that's a bug that you should help them fix, not just go on a rampage spouting bullshit (for example the ns2HD channel on youtube proves that the game is running absolutely perfectly already, still with the debug hooks in).
as to mr trip:
I think you have the wrong date for the nc3 counter, the day nc3 was announced to be in the works was nov. 6 2009
I referenced the date of the post by Kirk on the BP forums. Where are you getting that date?Quote:
