as for the multiple messages,
lets say you only log on to one of your chars but its not the one who gets the message, what then your proberbly gonna whine about not knowing, cos it was only sent to one char on the account
this should move to a outgame-forum-auction-system. ingame auctions are too late for me :S

It was moved to a later time so that people in USA/Canada time zones could attend. When it was held at 9pm GMT, people complained. Now it's at 11.30pm and still people complain :rolleyes:Quote:

Number three - I'm sure that major spammers were evicted. Two GMs in attendance.
Number four - Don't whine about the email. One per char is great. It ensures everyone is informed. And just because you have multiple accounts doesn't mean shit. There's a delete email button right there on the cityterm.
But there isn't a "delete all" or a "read all". I don't get one mail per character, I get anywhere from two to twelve depending on how long I go between logins. With the time it takes to rotate through all 16 characters, I have some where the e-mails just continue to build up.Quote:

I don't like spam in real life so I don't see why I should be subjected to it as part of entertainment. Make it opt-out if you must, but give me an option to be off these silly auction lists. It's not like I'm around when you have the auctions anyway.
1. It's not spam, a single mail with useful info in it.Quote:

i have no problems with the email of the auctions, 2 bad that the auction is a bit later mostly, by that time im going to my bed to read a book or watch some tele :)
thing i do find anoying is the mail or multiple mails i get from the preacher adviser ... for a noobchar ok, but on a capped char every time i crash and relog i can delete that skilladvisor mail :/
dunno if its a bug ornot :/
also slightly offtopic but now that i think about it: the CM resmission .. i have to start em 3 times before i get my item that i can res ... everytime i wonna drop of 3 cubes lol ... thats -3k everytime but thats not a haslle ... its searching for a mission 3 times before ya get youre item and canceling everytime that is the hassle :/ (to do 1 mission :/ )
anyway i like tha auctionthingie and i cant wait till i can participate in one :) maybe a littlebit earlier but then ffcourse not everyone can attend ... what about a euro and american auction ? ... i know 1 auction is alot of work allready by itself ffcourse :)
Well the time would be ok in a weekend on friday or saturday. But on a wednesday its bad. There are many who have to get up in the morning to earn their money so they can keep playing neocron ;)Quote:

Having the auctioneer yell out a load of items in a bunch for 5 minutes and not knowing how many items there are to come that are in the same bid is however, not smart. Everyone has fucking paper and a pencil, use them. Just scribble down what you want to bid on and for instance the stats for it, then just use the notes when you're bidding... is that so hard? I thought you use some method like that when running your shop Heavy? :wtf:Quote:

This is what i'd do for an auction:
Get everyone aware of the auction a week in advance, use GMs to post a couple of notices, make a forum post, occassionally send a message over TRADE chat in game, i'd then set a deadline in these notices say, for the day or two before the auction for when all lot's are in (lots are like.. if you want to sell something they give you a lot which can be just one item or a series of things) and get the info such as stats and any minimum prices they want for the items off the sellers right then so you can compile all the items and such into an orderly 'menu' or 'brochure' like proxy said.. write it up in word or somesuch and paste your contents into a forum post, ingame and out, and people can bid on the lots they want at the auction with the auctioneer just having to say something simple, like "Lot No. 22, Libby, HL, noob pker dogtags, asking price 500k, start bidding!"... simple as that! or some kind of variation on that system atleast..
If people want to know the stats, they should be aware and paying attention to the forum posts listing the items before, if they aint paying attention to those.. well they're clearly not very bothered about it (which sadly are probably the people who spam the auctions and such).
Now this is just what i'd do.. obviously there are complications, but if you work around something like that.. should be easy enough for a few guys arranging it to follow :)
Of course, this is just the way i'd do it! Maybe you'd do that too :P i dunno..
