Would it be acceptable if someone wrote a third party program to auto email the
bugs@reakktor.com address (or whichever is the correct one), every time we crash? The email would of course include the most recent error log.
Everytime we bring up how often most people crash in nc, a few die hards will say "I never crash." Which somehow negates the majority of the community. Even worse is when MJS himself says he rarely crashes. As long as KK has the silly belief that neocron is stable, then it won't be fixed and BDOY will be just as buggy.
Automailing our error bugs might give them some idea of how often we crash. Several hundred people reporting a crash every hour or few hours might open some eyes. For now KK has no reason to believe us, since we're told to mail in our error logs. If we don't mail them in then it's our fault. But as Shadow said a few pages ago, most players will not spend the time to open up mail and attach a logfile everytime they crash. Crashes happen way to frequently to do that, and plus it's like you stop playing after a crash. Most people's first concern is opening neocron back up and hoping they didn't die. I really feel an automailer would encourage more customers to submit their error logs.
If I played nc more frequently i'd set up a counter for everytime I fatal. I'll bet it'd be pretty interesting to watch over the span of a week or month.
