Same with me :)Quote:

There isn't anything I can do to fix this game, I can't buy it or pay for them to fix it. I have two choices, stay optimistic and hope they do something (Not hard for me to do since I don't let myself get angry) or I can get mad and throw a fit. I'm not going to bring myself to the level of personal insults against the CEO.
Alright, I couldn't edit my last post so I am just going to make this one.
I want to get some clarity out there. I don't think my point is being made clearly (probably to a fault of mine to some degree). If something is in bold I am simply emphasizing it, not internet yelling. Edit: Also I am trying to make this post as short as possible. I don't want to wall-o-text everyone.
This is what I am doing:
- I am not defending Reakktor, I am defending Kirk's personality/character. I can't judge him, I don't know his circumstances. By all means, bring the companies faults to light in the BP forums. They have a bad record with communication and the BP community deserves to know it. But I don't like insulting Kirk personally.
- I am not agreeing with his lack of communication, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.
- I am not telling you what to do, I am pointing out that a lot of it is irrational. You are dealing with a company, an entity that doesn't have to care (especially since this game is dead and would probably be cheaper for them to kill off).
- I am pointing out that as a company and as the CEO of that company Kirk has no obligation to tell us anything. We aren't investors or anywhere close to the level of him being obligated to tell us. The sheer fact that the game is dead puts us even lower. I don't condone the lack of care (if he is actually telling himself this), but at the same time it's true.
I also want to point out:
- It makes no sense for them to keep this game going unless they cared. It's only a cost right now, the fan base is not that big. We are just loyal and passionate about the game.
- It makes no sense for him to come here and throw fuel on the fire then just leave. That's not satisfying anyone and they aren't stupid enough to think they can do that forever and attempt to satisfy anyone (If that's what they are doing).
- It makes even less sense for him to personally call L0KI (Who am I right to assume sounded pleased and satisfied with the response?) just to leave. Something must have happened.
These reasons are the only reasons I am even sticking around. I love the game but without those, which really point to them at least caring about the game, there is no hope for the game.
That said, seriously Kirk you need to get on here and reply. I won't say you're a bad person, but it was not smart to do this and then not follow up and (or send some one else to at least) tell anyone why or what's going on to prevent you from doing it. That makes things look bad. At least giving us a reason as to the delay may or may not make things much better, but they sure can't make it much worse when you think about it. Hiding from it isn't going to make it go away.
At the same time we aren't asking him to make a simple little interview post with 5 easy game play questions. He actually has to think and form a response to them.
And to anyone who doubts my knowledge of the game history, you can ask MrTrip. I have known him since the beginning, I just went by a different name and gave that account away way back. Either way not many people know me, I still watched what was going on the whole time though.
What name did you go buy in the beginning Coreinsanity?
As for who can defend KK etc...
well how do you guys know that someone at Gamigo hasnt put a lid on any nc talk? They could be pursuing developmental possibilities right now for all we know. Yes that is wishful thinking you are very much right there.
However it is another possibility that there is stuff in the pipeline that they are legally not allowed to tell us. These things do happen when one company takes over another, even one with an ailing product.
At the end of the day all of this is hearsay and conjecture. Everyone is speculating but none of us has ever been a CEO of a company. Sure you might have written a masters thesis in a hotel room, in my work I tell aircraft where to drop bombs.... it doesn't make me any more qualified to write an email to tell a CEO what he should or should not be doing with his company.
In all fairness if i was in his shoes and i read your posts..... i'd be thinking "no thanks dude not sure i want to indulge your request for information" and probably keep walking.
TomParad0x a long time ago, used to play on saturn / pluto and uranus.Quote:

telling someone what he's doing is stupid, then telling him what is better than doing that stupid thing; while not directly saying it, it is however implying how someone should act. Just so you know how it appears :pQuote:

Therefore, we should not be judging him and comparing our achievements to him saying he should be able to give us a response. I have probably 50 things I could do that with, but I'm not going to because my circumstances were different than his. For all we know he has a fear of flying and couldn't think straight on the plane and meanwhile we are sitting here tearing his character down.
Edit: Also, has anyone gone on the BP forums since he hasn't shown up yet?
Yes I remember Tom Paradox on Uranus, I believe you were tom-paradox-spy or something similar.
You came to some of our op fights as Regulators and The Crahn Syndicate I think. Did you kick around with Honk Machine at one point? Or Neoeye?
Going to techhaven.org again today I saw the front page and although I have seen it a dozen of times in the last weeks I read the post one more time that L0ki wrote after talking to Kirk.
When you think about it, there is quite some information there.
Of course, I'd also like to know more, especially about the dates for NC2 patches, and how Gamigo views NC, and of course about NC3.
But at least Kirk gave us some information about the topics being discussed at that time and he told us through L0ki that NC is still on his mind, and that he has plans and thoughts about it:
That's at least something, people. Of course we'd like a direct point to point answer to Biglines summary but I really don't think a CEO has the time nor the motivation to write that much on an internet forum, hence the phone call.Quote:

ìvan, the phonecall was weeks before my summary, and it was kirk specifically who asked for this summary, and promised to answer it before the week was up.

maybe nc3 is in development. maybe not as will said its a nice thought. we will see what happens. i still say give it another couple weeks. if nothin by then well. bf3 will be out :) yay.
Oh yeah, I would have done like TomParad0xTank or even -tank, just not tom-paradox-etc (No dash between tom and paradox, at the most a space).Quote:

Can't L0ki or you be the telephone contact and simply write down the answers here afterwards?
Looks like a good model for the future to me :-)
while I wudn't mind it, i still think he should just take an hour out of his supposedly busy schedule to answer the questions on here. Me interpreting him would still leave room for more errors.
besides, while the questions are the most important at this moment, I still think KK should try to learn how to communicate with a community. While I don't know a lot about running a game developer company, I do have experience with plenty other gaming companies. And KK is simply the single worst communicator I have ever seen.
Is neocron playable now (hackers gone) or is it still just played by die-hard fans and people hitting 100% of the time with a dev screaming about how they are just uber pros?
However annoying KK can be I have realised 1 thing in the years since I quit neocron.... there are NO other good pvp games around, its all hotbar crap which is purely gear based no skill needed at all
nope, hackers still around. Not as obvious as before tho, and occasionally good fights can be had.
ITT: Angry nerds with no knowledge about the business world and real life in general. Oh, and no knowledge about KK and Neocron btw.
Maybe I'm an angry nerd, but one thing I do know about business and customers, is you don't treat your customers poorly by not communicating to them.Quote:

Support our common cause and bring up some fire in Black Prophecy community forum. History has shown they get nervous when people complain there.
I posted in English forum communicator , which serves for non bp related
Turn on the heat
Sry but its the same in the BP forum....
Some Clans had the idea of put all the ideas together and send a letter to Kirk.
Result: he said thank you very much in the forums (08.30.2011) but afterwards nothing happend.
Ofc now people are pissed since nothing from the pointed stuff is getting any propper result within a month.
I'd guess the reason for the silence in the BP-community and here have the same reason.Quote:

In NC we wait over 1 year already for some news and therefore its about high time. He can forward info also to one of the mods in kk.
So let's turn up the heat in bp forums !

If he was just busy and couldn't focus on us because of BP and gamigo, that's one thing. If he can't focus on either they are just going down the same bad road they have gone down before.

If the community needs to write the CEO a letter to get results on the companies active product, that company is ignoring them too much.
I can't see the letter anymore, so can't give a clear answer. The greatest issues afaik were imbalanced weapons, shields useless, only minor motivation for PVP and issues with the item shop.
The patch made a major change to weapons and defence. Now it's not 100% perfect, but for finding adequate balances it takes a while. With warzones also greater motivation for PVP came around - and these are definetely greater as in games like Fallen Earth
Bout the item shop, i can't judge. I never bought stuff there before and also i never will. A game for me at first hand is about fun. I like P2P games, cause paying for rewarding the devs for good work and for motivating them for further progress is IMHO a natural process. F2P games again i see as greatly unlogic. Sure there are some whackos who wrote their pile of horse dung that F2P is THE future, but from a realistic point of view - who works for free and puts in effort all day long to get nothing out in the end? If people like to spent RL money for virtual things - have fun, but I won't.
You re not a customer. Neocron is now free, and seemingly kind of a hobby or voluntary project to KK, which should have kind of changed the relationship between KK and the community. Anger and insults aren't going to bring patch day any sooner.Quote:
