its not actually, its just that there's two types, u got the appearance stuff, and actual armour which can be modded/changed. Means you can modify how u like (just like we all want in nc), while being able to modify the resistance of the armour underneath.Quote:

The problem is that the non-appearance armor is just numbers. You have to pay credits just to make a couple numbers slightly bigger. It makes perfect sense and all, I just don't like it. =cQuote:

On armour, i dont know why each piece cant show, rather than having special armours that show/ reflect your class.
You mean like how things like inquisition armor do nothing to appearance?
If so, I agree that that should be visible.
I think maybe like a three/four tier system would be cool; the higher tier takes priority over lower tear. (I said three/four since under-armor and PA currently use the same slot, but would appear on different levels visually)
Tier 4: Power Armor
Tier 3: basic armor
Tier 2: Under-armor
Tier 1: normal clothes
For example: First, you appear as how you select in character creation and the clothes-choice terminal.
Then, if you put on an under-armor, it appears over your clothes, but maybe with some clothes still showing.
Then, if you put on some basic armor, that appears over your normal clothes and any equipped under-armor.
Then, power armor completely covers up everything else.
Alternatively, normal clothes and under-armor can be switched so that under-armor appears beneath normal clothes, and normal clothes get replaced by basic armor when equipped, which replaces the texture of the corresponding clothes with a an otherwise unselectable texture.
Remind me to look this over this when I'm sober.
Certainly it would add a lot to the game to be able to customise thenway you look and show off your flashy new armour like in games such as fallout3 oblivion and mass effect
Exactly Flib.
kinda like neo-ultima online :)

Personally I react the same way with everyone. Shoot first, ask questions last.
That's one, very simple playstyle that some people choose to take.
my point was purely correcting how it worked in global agenda.
And brammers, even in global agenda the purely visual armour is still based on the class, it's just resists-based armour that is not related to the appearance.
how it should be for neocron I haven't really thought about so won't give an opinion on ;)
Hmm just been reading about this on BP. http://blackprophecy.gamigo.com/foru...ad.php?t=11025
The main points.
1) BP is likely to be released this week, providing there are no critical "critical defect"
2) There will be smaller add-ons throughout the year to add new content and features to the game.
3) New major feature is the "Walking on stations" due for release in "early" 2012.
One thing that is clear, KK will still have lots of resources working on BP. So where are the resources to work on NC2 or NC3?
I'm of course expecting lots of silence from KK on this....
Sounds like a kinda dull feature, unless there's a real point to it other than apartment bs.
I would like them to further develop this 3d walking around the space station stuff. I would like them to expand this into walking around on the planet. Well just one city would be a good start.
In this city could be a section where some pretty rough people hang out, oriental types calling themselves the Black Dragon Clan, or the Tsunamis even. They could call this place Pepper something, like a red light district. That would be great. These pilots could take a break from their space duels and come down onto a planet and fight over the control of resources from some factories or some uplinks into space to get more advanced hardware for their ships. They could even use Lab facilities to make new guns? Like we could name these labs things like Cycrow and Chester....
I would like to have vehicles for the "wasted areas" or wastelands that these pilots run around in. We could call them runners perhaps? Not pilots. I like that idea.
They could fight over the resources in these areas too and have clans control them.....
We could even let them make and swap guns, rare ones perhaps that you cant buy in a store - so that they can do better battle with other clans.....
What do you guys think to my idea?
I dunno what to call this city but if anyone else can think of something that would be awesome. If it was the first city I guess it would be called neo something as I believe that that is latin for first or singular? I am not completely sure though.
I hope they do not release bp yet. I don't think its finished personally, too much lag and nowhere near enough content from what I have seen personally. It looks great on the surface but it needs oodles of depth to make it a real winner. Too many cut scenes in it too.
Plus they need more voices (not just a rehashed UT99 voice which they have currently) or the option to turn them off. Frak.
o_O
Sounds like you want it to be Neocron.
William Antrim - OMG That's a fantastic idea! :D
And my first reaction to hearing "Frak" in BP was "What the fuck?".
Although I was chuckling at this reported bug earlier, where the profanity filter was censoring certain normal German words, such as "skillpunkteverteilung" to "skill***teverteilung" as it contained the word "punk".
Now I didn't think "punk" was a word you would associate with profanity until now, and after checking wikipedia - I shall now be logging on to Neocron and calling you all punks in my best archaic voice!
William: i shall log in to your BP server ASAP.

Ok i know dust514/eve is doing it but imagine beating them to the punch. if executed properly would be a coup of the highest magnitude in a game of this genre.
eve is well known and publicised for its drama and things that have gone off in the game. eurogamer described it as more drama than coronation street ( for our Uk gamer friends ) i lolled at this.
Im with william on the whole content thing. i think they are rushing it a little as to me it does lack depth in the game. The instancing missions doesnt to me feel right quite yet and theres a ton of features i can honestly say would be worth doing for them but the counterarguement too this lack of "depth" if i was in KK's shoes would be the " well look at what we are intending to add " with regard to this walking around clan stations thing.
I loved the immersion of the prologue and the feel to the story with it and the lore/background info but i really did feel left wanting once it was over.
I dont like the restrictions it placed on new chars as in "you must be x level to progress to new zones" when half the actual quests didnt have enough npcs for you to kill in the limited zones available and a serious issue with "Kill Stealing" by other pilots. A tagging system like wow offers or a %damage meter akin to NCs would be superb whereas from my few hours of play in the bp open beta i could discern neither.
This is not really the place to discuss BP i know and apologise for that. if a mod sees this feel free to pass on the comments made if you feel they are merit worthy.
However. the screenies did do one thing. I allowed myself to imagine how NC3 "could" look for the future.
i shall now go and change my pants :)
As ive been trying to push for awhile.
Similar to williams idea.... if NC3 uses the same engine as BP, then i dont see why NC3 couldnt be an "extension" to BP.
I would love to see Neocron as its own game of coarse, but you should be able to use your BP character, and fly from one game to the other.
In other words, join both games into one huge game. with the focus being on NC of coarse, because its better :P
in the words of brick top from the movie Snatch. "Of course fackin of course!"Quote:

Bp player. Get a ship and some skills and come up and fight me noob.

and on and on.
Naw it wouldnt work at all. 2 different worlds. 2 different games. 2 different Ips. total clash in the lore/history/etc. to make a style of a game within a game like neocron but within the bp universe would be cool but having thought a little more i think people who played neocron would prefer the whole intrigue/drama between multiple factions that made Neocron so great and would relate the whole Tyi/Genides thing to the Neocron/Doy days of NC2.
Lets face it. that didnt pan out too good. you could take the essence of neocron (fps shooter etc) and implement it in BP but it wouldnt be NC.
to william. It would be like non alcoholic lager :P
No Doc!
We need everyone to push this!
man i thought it would have been a nice groundbreaking idea for them, until you said eve is basically doing that.
I know there is a clash in story, but what i think people who may hang around for NC3 had better start realising is that NC3 will be nothing like NC or "NC2" .
I wouldnt even expect them to keep any semblance of old storyline, And i hope they dont!
Not that i have ever really been into the "backstory", but the introduction of the Dome, Regents and Ceres stories kind of made me even less interested.
Vive la NeoProphecy!

I think Dust514 will be a console shooter though and its gonna be very tricky for them to implement the 2 together and side by side. i think its a gargantuan task for any programmer.
as for the nc3. i think they should keep the whole back story/lore what ever for those that care for it and just overhaul the game completely. take what worked in terms of what the players loved and reinvent the game. otherwise it wouldnt be neocron. dont get rid of bits because its been done before if it was a good thing.
Nostalgia is a very powerful emotion. done correctly with the quality of the bp engine and not too much instancing (:P) it could be a smash hit and draw a lot of old players back as much as the new nc generation that will come to play it.
reskin with the new engine, balance and release. done.
unfortunately you cant "reskin" a game. new engine means start from zero, refill all the content. so you'd rather do a new game than just polish the old one. and i dont see lots of balance problems, apart from the beforementioned: turn down tech+woc-bonus, un-shake burst guns, boost melee, cut speed. that should do.Quote:
