Firstly, I'd be just as pissed if it happened to uranus (I did have some stuff setup for the beta transfer test, but I'd still be pissed enough to quit), so well, soz to everyone on saturn :(

But, is it really that impossible to give people a choice on whether to use the snapshot from the 20th? Or a new one they create tomorrow or whatever? That'd be by far the best way to "salvage" so to speak, a bad situtation

3 of my 4 chars are saturn chars, only 1 is a pluto char.
(although yeah i have 2 acct's so i'll be taking 3/2)

As mumbly says, im also struggling to think of a better way of what they can do.
Disaster recovery is now in place, and there's 2 choices on the table.

The vote's about split so it'd piss off half the saturn players (that have voted so far of course) no matter what they do.

I think it will probably come down to whatever's easiest - which will probably be using the 20th backup.

OK help me get this sorted.

The way my characters were left on September 5th is the way there are going to be in NC2 and NOTHING I "re-do" today to them matters?

So just leave them and wait?

Use the Snapshot from the 20th to rebuild saturn's database! THEN let us have a day to get ready before the transfer... its not that hard.

We will still lose stuff, but not as much!

I dont understand why this is not a possibility???

i personally have taken the hint and am currently putting my 10 things from the 5th in the QB, just in case.

no point in doing symps yet, but hopefully (yeah right) they will tell us soon.

this snapshot you have from the 20th...

cant you just add it up to a new server and then take a backup of that.. and apply it to saturn and then make the saturnians fix their stuff.. and then just wait 1 week with the final backup on saturn ?

I mean if you can move the snapshot onto nc2.. then surely you can move it onto nc1 aswell..

A snap shot suggests to me, not what is existing in your gogo's or cuboards, but what is present in your inventory and quickbelt.

So making a "database" back is impossible, as the snapshot doesnt know what exists outside of a players HUD and belt

The best thing would be to use the snap from the 20:th so that people won't loose to much exp/symps/items, and then help people get their items back (from before the 5:th) that they had in their gogo/cabs through helpdesk. Lots of work for helpdesk of course, but i don't care.

As an active player, (yes, some of us were still active right up to the fuck up), this is quite annoying. As someone that has played Neocron since it's UK release and seen many such instances of "unfortunate error", it's just another nail in the coffin. Only this time, it's the final nail. This camels back has been broken by the straw KK. It's just an excuse. Someone else mentioned that this is an "equalising" stunt and that statement holds much water.

Bollox to it. No matter how rational I am being about this farce, it's totally made my mind up about "going over" to Neocron 2. Paying more money to you half wit, "non" customer service focused morons would really stick in my throat.

You've taken all the stuff I wanted to take with me already and you've taken my subs that I paid, (6 months in advance, Oh! how foolish can anyone be???), so you can take this last pearl of wisdom with you as well..

well... thats not what I use snapshots for in my daily work. but if thats how they have it setup... It would explain things.
