What guns are the best? Point being to show the Devs what we use to help make changes a fair improvement.
Freeman. TL 92 pulselaser. ionic shotgun rifle. desperado. Tangent Cannon. paw of tiger.
Runspeed is too low on common setups. guns are not comparable in power to other classes.
I suggest 10% increased damage on those guns and 20% reduction of runspeed penalties. possibly make non pa setups viable with underarmour that allows more runspeed after increasing damage output or armour values.
Low tech pe. Pain easer. No pa. Old school. The only way to play.
Fix the Moveon and use a terminator :)

What used to make make noPA setups semi viable for PEs, was how hard you could become to hit. I just dont see that happening Again :(
I'm loving the fact that this is in discussion. In my time lurker around, I've always preferred the PE >.> Now that I'm actually playing, I'm a bit at a loss on how to spec him, so hopefully I can pull some ideas from here.

I used to love my LT Libby PE with viper king chest and a mix of inq and dur armour. Great fun to play. Haven't tried it since I came back though.
It wasn't just speed that made them so good. It was the lower requirements along with the damage boost that made them so good. They need to make lowtech overalls in my opinion. That would be sweet.
I think honestly the Private eye needs to be looked at seperate to every other class in terms of how to balance him per se. i hope this becomes a key focus when sparta comes up. Otherwise adjusting his stats etc will affect all the other 3 classes depending on what gets adjusted. maybe pe only gear is the way to do it.

It is hard to balance the classes fairly though with the current four. Traditionally the Tank would be the damage soaker but in NC he has high damage output to go along with his ability to eat it up. That causes a problem when trying to balance the others up. APU and spy (due to similar stat lines) should be relatively easy to balance up together but anything you do to the PE you do to the other classes as Doc rightly stated.
That was why I suggested the "Shelter" idea in the other thread further down the page. Give the PE items that other classes can use but make them beneficial to the PE and not to the others, it solves both problems. Noone has any specific items but the PE retains his "jack of all trades" type of ability. The PE will never be a specialist, that is not his role. He is the grunt in the trenches doing the dirty work - regardless of his weapon type - however he needs the weapons to do that and then it is up to the player to make him better with skill.
Woc doubly shafted the PE with the additional grind to get to it and then the additional damage bonus woc weapons currently enjoy. I think after the APU the PE is the next poorest off in the current climate of NC pvp.
