Over the last days (and nights) our fellow volunteers Alduin, ArkHive and Zoltan have invested a huge amount of time to better secure the Neocron Services against unscheduled downtime. Alongside these changes, a new server is made available that should do a much better job in terms of stability, performance and availability:

The Neocron Services are currently, and have been for days, target of a DDoS attack.
This means our bandwith is getting maxed out with garbage requests, rendering parts of the service unusable for our community.
We are truly sorry for everyone who would like to enjoy this wonderful game and are doing what is possible to mitigate the attack.

It sure took a while but we would to thank you for your patience, as well as thank everyone on the team who had a hand in getting this thing out the door. A special kudos goes to Zoltan and ArkHive, who did some of the heavy lifting below the surface.

As you may have noticed a large number of Neocron game accounts have been banned recently. This is an important process to keep the game fair for everyone.

Players are being banned for cheating, hacking and duplicating items every day. We have a zero tolerance policy towards these actions, even if the account is being used by someone other than the owner.

the work on our automated server maintenance has now been completed.
The system will shut down all servers on every Wednesday (1.00 a.m. Vancouver, 9.00 a.m. Berlin, 8.00 a.m. UTC) for a scheduled maintenance, that will take approx. 60-90 minutes.


This measure is being implemented to keep the servers in good shape and increase reliability and stability as one foundation for a good Neocron experience.
