New Melee Tech Levels?

Ok, I've been on a crappy dial up connection for over a week and don't have the time to read all the posts.

Why were the tech levels raised so much on melee weapons?

And did the damage increase with the higher restrictions?

its part of a reworking on all the weapons iirc

TL effect damage, plus melee does multiple damage types now

plus the TL raise enabled melee tanks to get a higher rank, up to about 62 i think
