View Full Version : Dead Factions and Clans
People need to get over the fucking point, certain factions and clans are completely dead and join up and increase the fun or it's gonna get much worse...
Just my two cents, it just seems many people are luring in 2 people clans when there are much better oppurunites to join up or merge with othesr clans and have so much more fun... *sigh* :(
well likke i said it's just my own thoughts, what do you guys think :\
Yeah, people change to the faction that is in the best situation. It's lame. :(
It's not entirely the player's fault, some factions simply are better then others. The enemies or allies you have is most definitly not balanced in any way. The locations you start off in, the apartments you start off with, the prizes you get for epics, the clan apartments. There's an endless list of reasons why certain factions end up with the most people. Then thanks to the gr's being locked by clan/faction you get even more encouragement to gravitate around a few factions and even then, just to a few very large clans.
BDOY's supposed to redo the factions some, so maybe it'll improve then. For now, there's not much we can do.
I say everyone should go all out war all anti city players move to TG all pro city move to CA this would be very fun imo but it will never happen
Factions/Clans are not dead, it's how their player's play them
When I first got to Saturn, everybody laughed at me for being CM, said it was a dead faction...that's the player's fault, not the game's
I have a very lively career as an assassin (CM) on Venus, people send us contracts all the time, plus helping taking OP's, renting out hackers, escorts, etc...
On Venus, there are Anarchy Breed runners.. (only because players expressed an interest)
Now, I know I might get flamed, or told to ``Stay on Venus if ya like it so much, n00b ``..but there are reasons that Venus has more and better events than Saturn, (not just mass spawns),Anarchy Breed, more support, and even a roleplay forum....the player's wanted it that way :)
Some people like to be solo or with just a few friends. I have been in small clans most of my Neocron life. It's nice doing whatever you want and making your own rules. I hate it when people say "lets all merge this faction together into one clan" They asked for it when I was NEXT, FA, and BD. Always the same. It never works. Most people that aren't in the biger clans or factions are happy there.

true..I had a clan made with my alts in the beginning, a researcher ,construct/repair, and barter, all support for my tank.....

I have two chars in CA and one main pking char in TG as my sig suggests...
But i sometimes still find supporting the Pro-City side more fun because in Uranus you just end up fighting all the "Big" or "Allied" clans never the small onces you see inside the city, bit disappointing.
And it seems like the pro-city clans (please don't flame just a rough thought) seem to lack in skill compared to anti-city...
Pro-City has no chance right now but at the moment some clans on uranus have been trying hard in OP wars (I won't name for thread closure reasons -_-) ...
So keep up the good work all you pro-city clans, (you know who you are)...

In response to the post stating that the pro-city factions suk..well, it's normal, that is where 99% of the first-time players go...It even says when you choose your faction at character creation screen : TG:This faction only recommanded for experienced players...
My first character was a CA...I got to know the game, then re-rolled him and started over.

I love my clan, all good people so far and we all fight well. I woulden't call it a bandwagon, there is hardly enough people in uranus as it is. The bandwagon is the clans with all the op's all the time.

lmao at the ncat bandwagon, that comment wasnt aimed at you personally mdgeist. it is the popular thing to do at the moment it seems, on uranus the world and his wife have all joined that clan, its just the latest new thing, ive no doubt in time the sheep will all get together en masse and stroll off to the next faction. as you yourself rightly said by now everyone pretty much knows everyone on their server, knows who to fight, how good they are etc. When youre fighting the same few people over and over again it does start to get repetitive. Its the same players all the time who bring the same ppus and use the same parashock on you. in time it doesnt matter which faction they are, people rarely give a fuck about soullight it seems (though i guess TG is popular for the same reason bd is - sl hits arent so harsh) and so they fight anyway. There is little else to do in neocron. so when they cap people will invariably follow the sheep mentality and others will try to go against the grain and go Ca for example or even being procity is a start on uranus. After a while you get bored of the same shit every day, the gang fucks, the armies of ppus vs the few procity, it starts to be a fps game, nc jus becomes unreal tournament, and tbh having just bought unreal tournament id rather play that atm.
In spite of all of this i have to say big respect to KK for the tunnels theyve just introduced to nc, i think that was wonderful, it gives the player base something new and most importantly the novelty factor keeps our attention but imo this game shouldve had much more of that from the start, sorry to go slightly off topic at the end there. Ive heard lots of talk about a balance of power engine being installed in nc also in the time ive spammed these forums, ive also heard some talk of a kind of underdog bonus being given to the side that has less players in it (ie NC-Doy), personally ive always preferred to be the underdog in all the clans/factions ive been in. To me theres no greater thrill than pulling off a victory against a favoured opponent, thats jus personal preference. There are many other people who think this way spread across all servers i think (take FA on pluto for example) but even so after a time it can get to be frustrating even for the seasoned vet.
In summary then i feel the entire faction system needs to be reworked, i hear it is happening come the 1st of september and Doys release so i just hope that they get it right this time and all of the people who have left will at least come and have a look at Doy. Hopefully a few will stay and nc will be a lot more fun again.

That or hop on the BD bandwagon. I hate to say this (OOC here mods, I spologise) but your clan going BD was prolly the worst thing that could have happened to the server. At least while we are in FA we can support the city clans (unfortunately not the two big city clans that are left, with them being TT and all). However as BD, it just seems as though its like... THAT BIG BD CLAN THAT INVOLVES ORANGE STRIPY ANIMALS AND PARTS OF THE HEAD! GOTTA HAVE THEM!....it's getting rediculous

Stewey dont say things like that. the ronins arent that big in fairness alot are inactive. all they did was move to a populated faction. just like u guys did. the fact that faction was bd well so what. fa now have ops too. no one whines at you guys. r2k dont open very often either. its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. ronins either got stomped on at op fights by superior numbers or ninja hacked when no one was on. i say respect to em for staying pro as long as they did. I would point you to your title about nerf zergs. u wouldnt stay in fa if u were the last clan in it that was worth a shit and tt zerged u or ninjac hacked u all the time.
Golb mate im glad you love your clan but isnt it funny who clans pop up all the time and everyone flocks to them each time they do. sYn was the last one with the ts faction in the mean time. it goes back further an further. some people simply join to be on the winning side. hell i admit we even had a few join us back in the days of us being tangent. as each bandwagon gets a flat tyre or loses a wheel another one comes speeding up with the drivers foot firmly on the gas to take over. ( u like the analogy?? )
u guys see why i left now i assume. last night was it but my account stays open. hopefully some of the community will work to restor balance but i doubt it. im giving it a few months. maybe i will come back and go pro and see who comes too. the way i see it ca has plenty of enemies. we shall see in time.

Regarding the ops and populated faction thing. It's less of the faction they moved to and more of the tactics used by a lot of the city based clans which is to call in 3 others clans if they get their arses kicked and invariably one of those clans starts with T and ends in J. It gets a bit boring when you want a nice small clan v small clan war and when they get beaten they have to come back with a sledgehammer.
I would like to say however that it is not FA's way to ninja hack. We like a straight up fight with the op going to the clan/team that faught the best, as it should which is why we dont like the clan mentioned above because they seem incapable of doing that.
And about our faction switch, that was more to do with politics than faction population. A splintered and divided faction aint much to play for and no one seemed interested in fighting for their faction, more fighting for themselves.

that being 10 mil, to bribe current faction, to not hunt you down, and 10 mil to make the new faction accept you.

I can speak for my clan..wich im proud to say i will be joining in a couple days :D We got tired of getting gang ********** everytime we took an OP. and or when we didn't get ********** we got ninja hacked by some ass bag lamers ! so yea we switched factions and yeppers we sometimes used help..but we tried it on our own for months and months..it gets old guy real old. DOC bring your ass back..i got something for ya mate !!! :D
Another thing that sucked about even attempting to OP fight when Pro-CIty was we ended up fighting green factions all the time since everyone's alt were in freindly clans, turned into a clusterfuck all you see is friendlies everywhere we end up getting fucked all and look like dumbshits on the battlefield. I personally haven't even bothered with an OP fight in at least a month since there's nothing but ganks and flames for the rest of the day after.. There hasnt been a fun OP fight for me since I was PP Ronin.

I am glad you not mad at me, the choice of which clan to join weighed heavy on me. Golb and Raoh are still clanless and will stay that way till doy. And Like I said I wont mess with you outside of an op, come to think of it I wont bother any ronin out of an op. Especially TICK! Welcome back tick :D

I....mphiz , X-Tank , .mph1z all my chars , 3 of them when i started them ALL were pro-city (cityadmin) and i have stayed that way tiill ROnins joined Blackdragons (no im not blaming you) but i just got bored of the 9 million Anti-City vs 10 Pro-City type OP wars with massive german allies, but fortunately most germans have quit and only one clan really exists, so yes i have still got a clan running pro-city and i actually play CA more than TG so please Doc spread ur crap somewhere else ok ?
as you can see all I'm trying to say is I just wished people would join the losing side.
i'm the type of person who joins the losing side all the time, it's just i got bored of doing that crap for 2 years and everyone is doing it why the fuck should i waste my time being ganked, everyone else is so ignorant or selfish why do i bother trying to bring CA up, if u bothered to ask some newbies around in Plaza 2 i've been trying to recruiting virtually everyone from 0/2 to 20/20 to 60/60 , you name it.
I just joined NCAT because i actually want to be in a good PvP clan which is active and fun to be in and experiecne stuff i haven't before. I never was in a anti-city clan so are u saying i joined the bandwagon ? you're a friggin BD urself doc ...

that just shows how little u know about me doesnt it. i moved to black dragon for the reasons u state in ref to ca. there was no one in the faction. this was when TJ were twiglight guardians when rdz were around instead of them being raf again. there were 3 clans in the faction. cartel was one. dark pact was another and forlorn the third. this was some time last year late summer or there abouts. your im a friggin bd myself holds no weight in this arguement. Now why do a 180 degree turn instead of justifying startin this thread on a topic u know nothing about. i have seen both sides of the coin. in a large clan with lots of people rushin to join and also in a tiny clan thats got like zero members. i have a good idea what im talkin about. if u read my second post u will see what i wrote and what dazz wrote just about sums it up. when i have been bd we have gone to op fights with the ronins to give em a hand despite breakin the shock horror rp rules of f6.
next time mphiz before u reply read carefully what i wrote. u started the thread. im adding my opinions. i made no direct flames and its not been edited in the slightest. for your info we begun a move over to cm before i decided to hang up my hat. again in to a small faction which is underpopulated. trying to bring that magical thing called balance. we were also gonna try some proper roleplay as mercs. the pop aint on uranus at the mo to support it but someone has to do something. i even tried to get some rp goin on the faction forum too. if u got a bd u can borrow go look. i got about 1 reply. and u wonder why i quit the game. its the community that stinks on uranus not the game. And dont take my comments too personally. this is a discussion. im not in to flame fests on the forums. i save that for the trade channel ;)
