View Full Version : yeah well erm :O
well first time i log onto pluto for a while i see 37 people on on a sat *shrugs* dead
so do a bat queen run with a friend or 2 get to end server crashes
37 people and it lags out
RYL has 5k people on it and doesn't lag out ....yes Neocron with 37 does.......ffs KK get it sorted
yeah with B:.DOY you might get 5 k subscribers for a week...cos of the lag
saying that the 7 year old Ultima Online still has over 200000 active subscriptions and has zero lag on an average connection should show that KK are doing something wrong

Of course you know that all servers went down for some mins? Nothing to do with pluto.
Reakktor have a limited budget compared to a lot of other MMORPG companies, and the people who are hosting their servers (Level 3 is the name I think) haven't got much of a reputation, I believe.
It's all well and good saying that Reakktor are doing something wrong, but you should find another MMORPG team the size of Reakktor's THEN come to the board and say that.
As it stands now, there's little point in comparing them to a company that's at least three times their size.
Peace.

Origin were the same size as reakktor when they created UO, they were later bought up by EA when they saw how well they were doing

UO is 2D.
UO has no 'shooter mode'.
UO maybe doesn't lag cuz of this.
:p
Edit : Forgot the FU NC Netcode ..... :D

as i'm sure most peopel know RYL has only just entered open beta, it is hardly a well established game.
just thought i would point that out as apposed to the well into retail that Neocron now is

U can't become big without money. If KK wants more members, the netcode should be re-done, and the servercapacity should also be checked and double checked.
Or they have nice working servers but they intend to use the bandwith to download porn from INTERNET!
Origin were the same size as reakktor when they created UO, they were later bought up by EA when they saw how well they were doingAre you telling me that UO had better connection status about a year after initial release?
Sure, they do now... After how many years of experience (and of course many years of money coming in), but don't try and tell me they had it perfect the whole time.
yeah but everyone was on 28k so everyone lagged
This is not aimed at the thread starter, or indeed anyone in particular, but the vast majority of internet users including Neocron's population seemingly has little clue how the internet and it's attatched infrastructure works.
KK *has* built their end of the service on a tight budget and it is, perhaps, not as robust, efficient or as high performance as it could be if given a much bigger spend but it's not at all bad considering the money available.
However - it needs to be accepted that some things are just beyond KK's control, no matter who they partner with, or how much money is thrown around.
The internet is not, I repeat *NOT*, designed to deliver continuous point-to-point connection streams.
Sometimes shit breaks, and it takes time to find a path around the fault.
Having hysterics on this forum because the internet worked exactly as it was supposed to doesn't strike me as a particularly useful way to behave.
