Come on guys, give it up. Stop all this whining about almost inconsequential issues. its not productive, its not moving anyone to do anything, and its a pain in the ass to hear all sorts of snide remarks referring to some sort of dead-horse-beaten-then-gang-********** issue thread. Let those damn topics DECAY, you guys are keeping them alive through some sort of omfg-unholy-zombie-virus ritual that's ruining it all for the rest of us playing Neocron.
Let the damn server merge threads die. Let the damn stealther and turreter threads die. Let the damn clan/server threads die. Let the damn nerf para/nerf ppu/nerf apu/nerf MJS threads die.
Come on people... THREE+ patches on the Test server in effect!
Come on, guys, start sorting through your porn stash on the HD and delete some of the not-so-spectacular stuff to make room...
Then start playing NC some more to get some more "ah, those were the old days" memories before the patches hit. Get some c10s and apcs built before someone finds out that apcs are gonna be like 5x the price to make, and the profit is only like 10 nc each key with TL 180 barter!
You want events, start some up on your own. Yes, hide'n'seek and duel tournaments count as events. I'm more than sure that some tradeskillers can get some of their own contests going, I heard of that "first one to 5 slots in a batch" event a while ago. Sounds good to me.

Tho i keep my eye in forums for past few months the same topics are coming up over and over again, enough to give you a headache and make any prospective players think twice about playing but on the flip side generally i agree with a lot of the comments freezer removal, server merges etc.
But yeah stop whine .. Until u own a software company and make ur own game

Uranus has a very healthy population, thanks. Lots to do instead of capping one or two chars (BOOOO-RRRRIIIIIIIIIING!) I now have 8 to cap. And I don't understand the people with 4 accounts on Pluto.....why pay 4 times as much when you can do the same thing on a multichar server? Don't give me the reputation line or hiding behind your alts thing. Anyone who knows me on Uranus also knows my alts so yes, your reputation does follow you around and you can't hide behind another character till it boils down just the same as you can't on Pluto.

and as for the topic - simple agree. It wont change anything though, most people who left the game or went "inactive" wont come back before BDoY (if ever)- i've been trying for a month to force my clan members (20 people) to return into game and finally i gave up. Most of them by now are in other games (daoc, eve, swg, ryzom, "the game we must not speak of") with no intention to come back. And i seriously doubt they will come back even for BDoY, there are too many new games comin soon.
Some of them still have paid accounts, they just stopped playing and moved to another games. That is the problem.
Patches? Yeah, i'll be happy when i see them in retail, but as for now i think its only marketing strategy to keep people ingame and they will never see daylight (kk amaze me please...)
Well, uhm, sorry for the negative sound, but i'm kinda gloomy-neurotik-suicidal person so i tend to see only negative side. Sorry for that. I'm still playing, not so often though, still on pluto, still can live quite well and prosper without having 10+ alts. I'm not even in clan, cause some stupid bug deleted it (along with 8 cabs full of useful stuff and 20 mil cash...). But yeah, i'm still playing... sometimes...

Sure you can, quite easily, you never know who someones alt is unless you find out/ask/they tell. With Pluto/Jupiter, you have 1 char per account, thats your char, if that char gets a bad reputation, you cant just switch over to an unknown char, your stuck with it,or have to reroll. It also forces player co-operation, if you need a research/cst, you got to find oen, you cant just switch chars.

And Dajuda is completely right, we pay we have a right to complain about/discuss various topics about the game.

Your very welcome, I know exactly what he meant, it's the way he worded it made me post a sarcastic comment. And yes I think this types of threads completely pointless, this kind of things should come as obvious to normal grownup ppl so I c no point in posting such things.
Yeah, the forums are here for a reason, to communicate both good and bad and to share our voices and opinions to others. As said by Larry Flint, the right to freedom of speech isn't to protect the thoughts you love the most, but to protect the thoughts and ideas you hate the most.
I think the reason why you see so many repeated threads is because there are some really big issues that aren't being taken a look at, maybe if enough people make it obvious that something is wrong, then something will be done to improve it.
Sure, some subjects get old and some threads are the same idea, in different words, but no one is holding a gun to your head and making you open the thread, in fact, no one is even forcing you to read the forums. If you want to play and not hear about the BS, then click the neocron launcher, not the internet explorer to view these forums.
After about the 3rd parashock thread I stopped reading them, unless the starter brought up a new or improved idea on how to fix it, then i might read what others have to say. But if it is just another "i hate parashock, i can't move etc" thread, then i don't click it.

And aslong as I have these glorious fingers to type with, I'll bitch, complain, suggest, and debate my heart out. Do you really think this game would get any better if someone didn't point out the small things and complain about them? There are problems with the game and we have the right to complain and suggest ideas to improve it.
Personaly I think alot of the topics wouldn't repeat if we had an official word now and then but since the devs just linger in the back, making us think they haven't gotten the point, the topics will arise again and again.

If they would post what actions towards the issue they were planning on taking, or what they thought of an idea, then things would be alot better on here, instead of crossing our fingers and hoping the change will be on the next testserver patch.
There's too big of a gap between the community and the devs, communication wise.

Life has taught me there are two kinds of people.
--Those who are a part of the problem and do nothing---then there are those who see a problem and do there best to remedy it!! Lots of people have a lot of gripes and no ideas. I say put your money where your mouth is and try to come up with a solution. If the game is getting boring and you have capped your current characters, re-roll and make something else or change from rifle to pistol, etc... No one is going to make it fun for you! Some work is required on your part.

I agree totally there. However when people come on and bitch about things with cancelled accounts etc, I get a bit hacked off because they aren't even PLAYING any more. How can they know whats happening, whats been going on if they haven't experienced it first hand?

if you mean by the old days the real old days then i have to dissapoint you .. this game is drifting away from its original further and further every day ... both by whines here on the forum about everything and anything so everything is nerfed now (i confess guilty also, check my sig) and both due to the wrong and sometimes longduring methods used by KK to fix them ...
i must confess that i dont wonna be in there place cause everyone has he's diffrent opinions about NC and everyone wonna see sumthing else changed ... i wouldnt know what to do either lol ... i understand it must be extremely difficult and that those matters take time to think about
i gonna stop whining also and the fact that im still hanging around here and ingame altough not that heavy as i used to .. must mean that i think it aint that bad around here :P
altough im excited and afraid for the new patches :) but i better wait and see what those new changes gonna bring, i allready made my tank hybrid :) yust to test some stuff out :P

I would have hoped in my earlier days in this community, that balance could be sorted out to a decent level and then kept in touch as new content was added, but it never happened, and I was part of a few people that made a massive drive to see balance sorted out, since it never was, it's still, one of THE MAJOR problems out of the non-critical and non-roleplay content.
Since there is, virtually no roleplay content because of the way the community has turned out as it is, balance should be finalised once and for all, so KK / whoever balanced the weapons/classes, can finally say "Plsdiekthx" quickly followed by "nobye.", After balance is achieved yea fine your comment is valid.
But, Porker, you come up with some really crap ideas/crap to whine about as it is, so this post as ironic/hypocritical as it is in itself, is even more likely to be completely ignored because of how you normally are.
Please, I realise you want to instigate a change in the community to move onto more positive things, but, believe me, I have tried, and there's a thread around posted by me saying something close to this (termed to be far more palettable to the NC Player ¬.¬) where everyone agreed.

Probably not, since the only people who are even remotely likely to balance these problems and stop the cause for valid complaints that their customers have, is;
Lupus, Apollo, Callash, Thanatos.
No one else has the time to give a shit, and the community WILL NOT let go until it is fixed.
And it will most likely never get fixed, as sad as that sounds, it's a massive task that's hugely complex requiring people to think about at least 12 sets of Generalised Variables at the same time.
VERY Few people in this community are capable of that, so sadly, I gave up to a degree trying to encourage people to balance Neocron.
These days I do my work trying to play damage control for the morons who think they can balance this game.

Very very VERY well said there QD. With regards to the RP thing, you should come back for maybe just a month and see how much RP we FA get in. We have on the spot player events that evolve around the players actions, preplanned ones hell we have even hired enemy clans to pose as the bad guys in the plots. Well we tried but they didn't show so we improvised. Luckily a tank and PPU showed up midway through one of these impromptu events and attacked so we just incorporated it into the storyline.
I can quite honestly say that since moving from CA, I have had the most fun I have ever had playing a game with SSC and R2K. They are all a great bunch of guys who are willing to help out, won't take things other than how they are intended and know how to RP. They've got Neocron as it should be nailed. There is even talk of something big within the faction as well that, if you want, I can DM you about as this is best kept either ingame or off the forums.

Player produced RP is nice, but the more RP-Content KK introduce the more likely they are to influence the ENTIRITY of the community, rather than just having the people who are in the game and interested in RP encourage eachother to do it.

Obviously I've far from written this game off though, all I'm saying is, the majority of the community don't give a crap about anything at this point, other, than PvP balance, because there is little else to do.
As one of my signatures once said "MMORPG players can't organise anything for themselves, they can't take action, they want everything on a plate, presented to them in small bitesize easily digested chunks."

Been playing for 2 years now with a month or 2 off here an there, but yeah I agree stop da bitching about shit, sack up and deal. Ive played every class capped or near capped, and on multiple severs, if you play this game to lvl all the time then your in the wrong game. You can cap any char in a week if you want. This game is all about da PvP baby, only reason I still play cause the PvP rocks I cant find a MMRPG where its beter. you can be several lvls lower then somone and still kick there ass no problem. Given I hate the fatals and all the god damn bugs and may not like para or some other shit but really deal with it I think the games great and I got plenty of awsome memories and good friends. Hopfully with new patches and DOY alot more people will start playing but for now I got 2 severs to wreck fools on, almost to much action to handle =).
oh and if your looking for more RP go venus GMs on all the time, although you may not speak french lots of them speak english. Just dont expect a warm welcom they kinda dont like outsiders =)

Thing is, last time Callash showed up on Uranus to do an RP event, it turned into a gankfest right in front of him. He wasn't able to enforce his own 'No PvP' rule, however I suspect this was more of a policy restriction than unwillingness on his part. Which is a shame because it kind of ruined the event for most people.
Also when Danae showed up at Xmas for a little party on top of the NC gates, there was peace and quiet for a while. Then hell broke loose and copbots had to be spawned. And then it got quiet. And the event went on and it was fun (thanks for that btw!). And then the event ended and the ganking started again. Honestly people treat this game just like quake and the general opinion is just because there's a PvP element you have to do it 2/7. You're dead wrong guys. Yes it's there but if you look harder the RP content is MUCH more enjoyable.
Example. Go exploring in the desert/canyon sectors and you will come across a one of a kind mob.....a Reaper Gallopticus. If you look hard enough you can find each of the unique monsters in NC and theres one for each of the major region-specific mobs. Another good reason to RP.
If you really wanted to make the game better, you would stop playing on pluto and uranus and come to saturn so theres one huge server... if KK wont do it, do your part... Why saturn? its already got th highest pop. If not, keep being bored with a server with 50 people and sit wishing there were more.
