also, just becuase you have files infected doesn't always mean your comp is borked. Once you figure out what virus it is google it and you know if it's destructive, invasive, or just annoying ...

after that it pays to get an anti-virus product that keeps itself updated ...

Yeah i wanna get ... Pandasoftware and I'm wondering if it's good and also after this 2nd attempt of getting the virus after a uninstall i considered Zonealarm firewall (yes, I didn't have firewall before :( ) and it seems to be quite good.

and ... awwwwwww that's really nice of you Jeros82, i dont kill ppl im a carebear, i swear ;)

my experience with Avast has been somewhat less then fantastic... compaired to Symantec corp edition... like... Avast caught nothing even when fully updated and properly setup (as far as i could tell anyway...) and Symantec actually caught things... but that's just my experience with it...

imo panda sucks, a library here uses it in their net pcs and it keeps messing things..

I prefer symantec / f-secure ...

I've only been using it a couple of months, and , touch wood, nothing has gotten through yet. It does seem to be well supported, as I've had quite a few definition updates.

Have to point out though, dont rely on just one AV solution. I always make a point to scan with another/one of the web based AV programs just to be sure.

Just don't let the clan leader of NCAT hear that, otherwise you'll be on there KoS list very soon I think
