Reinstalled Neocron Today, to get the test server working.

Now....Its seems to have worked for the test server, but It wont connect as it says its offline on the test server info page.

Now, I go to load neocron, with the correct IP, and it comes up the usual, but login name/password is missing, and then I go to connect to a server and there isnt any, its just blank, then I go further, and its like creating a fresh char, but all the text etc is missing.

I think this is what the test server is like, yet the IP im connecting to is the games.

Need some help

Not sure iof this is what you ment by the test server part, but if you mean that next to where it says Testserver is says offline in the servers info part its ment to say that. Should be able to connect to it still though.

There is no text, anywhere.

Its all missing, and its as if im connecting to a completely different thing.

I cant even take screenshots of the thing because when u press the print screen key it closes!!

Tried FRAPS? That takes print-screens.

OK, thanks for that, ive got 4 screenshots, seems I am on retail, but all the text is missing, seems I connected to my Pluto PE named Fawkes.

The game is fine, the text is totally gone, and obviously unplayable!

you ARE using 2 different installs of neocron right ?

1 for test server

and

1 for retail server

....

I would recommend you back up, your configs, rpos, screenshots and patches, and uninstall and reinstall neocron.

I did exactly what MJS said.

Unistalled Neocron.

Reinstalled it to C:\Games\Neocron

Didnt patch.

Cut and Pasted the pak. files to C:\

Copied the Neocron folder (without the pak.'s) to C:\ Renamed it NeoTest

Put patches #194 in the test, and patches up to #197 in the retail patches folder

Downloaded #195 to #198 and placed them in NeoTest

Downloaded the new Launcher, called in Neocronlauncher2.

Patched the NeoTest to 198, all fine, added the appropriate IP with .55

Launched, and it had no text, but says "you are connecting to the test server!"

did exactly the same for the Neocron, with the IP .54, updated fine, launched fine, no text

Or am I doing something completely wrong?

dude ??

ok..

install the game again (doesnt matter where)

copy patches 135 to 194 (delete all patches sized less than 100 kb) from retail to new install

(connect to test server ip

let it download all test server patches)

or download them from a site / ftp

(connect to test server ip)

let it patch the patches into the new installation

start the game

(if bugged, download the "fixed" neocronlauncher.exe and replace the old one

and start the game again)

that worked for me ^^

I recorded a little bit of how it SHOULD look like when you log in to the test server.

Login screen blurred on purpose.

Download here (http://www.m00.sys-techs.net/neocron_test_login.wmv)

This is exactly why I don't go to the test server. Between all the uninstall reinstall drama, and having corrupted/missing files after you do it, it just isnt' worth the hassle.
