Any of you seen the new game city of Heroes,

I was checking it out and was wondering if any of you got into the beta and were willing to give me your opinion of this game.

You were supposed to dig around their site to find the answer to several questions, then you could apply to be a tester. Not *be* a beta tester, just to apply : p I didn't think it was worth my time to jump through hoops for them.

The game itself looked interesting, but there's no PvP, aside from an Arena type area I think. What really turned me away though is.. you can't play as a villian. The game would be so much cooler if they had PvP in the form of evil vs good. I was to be the arch nemesis, the bad guy!

i think Villans are being added when it goes retail and the main PvP will be good guys VS. Villians (ala pro-city Vs. anti-City)

i don't need PVP since I don't do it much in NC it won't be a requirement for me to justify it being a good game or not.. I am looking for a more mission oriented game... I need direction and wish Neocron could do this.

I definetly agree with carinth I was really interested in this game till I saw there is no pvp and no ability to play as villains.

Also from what I read of the developers journal thing the guy never plans to implement pvp either. Even if they do let you play villains it will probably be in a mirror world where you fight hero npcs or something ****** like that.

Without pvp it really doesn't matter how good the game is it might as well be disney's toon town because it's just basically playing a single player rpg with 500 other people you can talk to and no story.

I have heard from other players that are in beta that it is extremely mission based something that neocron lacks.. I am into MMORPG's more for the RPG element if I want to PVP i get Half life out and log on to a server and practice my twitch fighting skills there so I will not be playing the game for that aspect.. I don't play Neocron for PVP because as a spy PVP for me just sucks.. unless I am ganking someone.. with 3 other players and that is wrong in my opinion.

I'm in the Beta of CoH and i must sat i am enjoying it.
Its right that the chracter custimization is top notch and you will not see a single other character that is anything like yours.

The game itself plays nicely and use's W,A,S,D Keys to walk around as opposed to a point and click to walk there style. Ther currently is no PvP in game and the main part is spent leveling by killing thugs on the street or by doing missions.

If you like comic books then you will definetly like this. It is top notch in that area and i am looking forward to more being added.

I'm on the Prime server along with a few other eXo.

I have played coh for the last few days after they opened the beta to everyone.

I enjoyed my time there.
I don’t know enough about the long term game play. But I can say that the game is not crap.
I have played other betas and I can tell right away that they are crap.
But coh does have something.

I read MMORPG sites and knew about coh for a long time.
But it never sounded interesting a town of superheroes. No PVP. Uhh no thanks.
Also no tradeskilling. What is a mmorpg with out hour upon hour of boring mining/ constructing. lol
But I read some beta reviews and they were good.
So I signed up and entered the open beta. (Which ends April 22, I hear aliens are invading)

In 3 days I crashed once.
And when I did a window popped up, saying the game had crashed would you like to submit a report.
Please enter what you were doing and it showed the 2 error files that it was sending in.
KK are you listening. Automated error reporting!!!!!

There are zones in the game.
I would have preferred all one big zone.
And they have different versions of the same zone, would you like to go to Atlas City, Atlas City 2, Atlas City 3, Atlas City 4.
Which are all the same zone but different to level load the server.

The difference of character appearance was amazing all types of costumes to put on your superhero.
I spent some time just looking at the other players.

The missions so far have been enjoyable.

The only trouble I had so far is a wandered around sightseeing with a level 2 character and somehow got into an area of the city that higher level villains.
And no matter which way I went or how I tried I kept getting kill as I walked back to the easy area of town.

Movement is WASD. Fighting is push 1-9 to use a weapon or a power.

I think coh should be applauded for doing something different. A mmorpg with no elves, goblins, and the like.
I think the game will get good reviews.
I just don’t know if it is my type of game.
I wish it had PVP from the start.

I can't believe it! At first I thought this game was suck.

But the more I read up on it and hear about it.

Now I really think this is going to be a good game, really really good, as long as it is going to be a QUALITY made game.


But if this MF game is going to be another buggy piece of shit, then I'm going to be pissed.

what is http://www.coh.com/images/subhead_archetypes.jpg ? is that like Men, dwarfs, Elves, in like D&D? Is it like different types of super hero's/villan?

PVP is not available in CoH yet.. they are talking about arena fighting but it is not implemented yet.

Kinda turn based, but not really :-\

You have your powers that you can use and if you click on an enemy then use that power you will have to wait for it to recharge before you can use it again. But in the meantime you can use your other powers.

The recharge time can be reduced too because you can get slots on your powers which you can then install enhancements onto to make them stronger.

Also some powers are able to attack more than one enemy at a time.

I played the beta for a while. It's definitely very different to other MMORPGs around at the moment. Almost as unique as NC in it's own way.

It's very mission-intensive if that's what you want. I found the world a little lacking somehow but I think that's just because I didn't get far enough into it. As others have said the character creation is fantastic, certainly the best I've seen in any game as far as appearance is concerned and possibly also functionally.

Of all the betas I've played in the last few months (a lot) it's one of the few I might pay for.
