Have anybody tried this http://theprodukkt.com/ ?

It's 96k only lol. I'm at work so I cannot try it (requires a gfx card with at least 1.3 shaders).

Looks cool :D

[EDIT: it's freeware btw :)]

96kb? I thought they were sticking to 64

I think they added some content. Don't know how big the "final" version will be though. I would guess not much bigger...

The readme file said they would add more kb's.

I had the same problem on the Geforce 3... maybe a driver issue or DirectX issue, dunno.

And the P4 box, well it crashed as soon as I ran it!

But what I could see of it, to get that much in 96k is very impressive!

oh look another program that thinks everyone can run in a res > 800x600

hate that.

The Produkkt have made a small beta first person shooter, complete with lighting/shading and bump mapping.

What's special about it then? The game consists of one file, and this is just 96 kbs.

God knows how they do it, but whatever it is it needs plenty of RAM - don't even bother with less than 512mb. It would be wonderful if they could make the technique more efficient so we could all carry the latest games around on floppies again

Thats cool i compared it with Painkiller .. you need 3 CD´s and her you need 96kb for one level ... ok 30 levels .. more sounds .. hmm i think 300 kb ^^ jear xD

they use a extremely advanced compression thing they made themselves, they also have this huge ass rendered thing they made a while ago thats only like 12kb and has all that shading and 3d shit, its nice as hell and about 20 mins long, only 12kb

thats nuts. i was expecting it to be the one room and thats it, went on for ages.

it's cool stuff, but not all that big of a deal from a technical standpoint... er, well, I mean, it is, it's well done, but it's not like they accomplished what was previously thought impossibe.

U got a point but what is actually nice about this thingie is that it manages to fit quite good gfx in 96kb. Heck most java games for mobiles are larger than that.

is anyone else experiensing lag on this? i have more than the reqs ask exept in ram i have exactly 512 and its very very lagy...

Samhain

er, but that's sort of what I mean, the compression techniques they've developed are impressive, and it's a nicely done demo, but then again it is also the same overstylized stuff that the demo scene is full of, and on top of that, it's not just '96k', it's a 96k program making reference to libraries that are much, much, much larger.

yea me too, it had assloads of weapons and monsters too.

but its not kidding about needing a high-end comp because i was havin a bit shit fps and i got 1.4 ghz and 640mb pc2700 ddr ram and 128mb ddr vid card so its not a bad comp but this game req's 1.5 ghz+ ;P

I was having shit fps too...like 20fps im using 2.8+ AMD/GF4TI 4600 128mb/1GB DDR 400. edit/ i am using 60.72 nvidia drivers though so they may not help as their beta ones. Np's with any games yet though.

Its still pretty fucking cool considering thats like WAYYYY smaller than a bitmap picture heh.

well, its only the beta.

I downloaded that game, but the problem is that the game resets my gamma configs that i have setup on my ATI card. so I don't really see much in the game except what's a foot away from me.

system requirements
----------------------

.kkrieger requires a relatively high-end machine to run properly. To be
precise:

- A 1.5GHz Pentium3/Athlon or faster.
- 512MB of RAM (or more)
- A Geforce4Ti (or higher) or ATI Radeon8500 (or higher) graphics card
supporting pixel shaders 1.3, preferably with 128MB or more of VRAM.
- Some kind of sound hardware
- DirectX 9.0b

We've done some testing to ensure it runs on all hardware meeting those
requirements we could get, and we checked it runs on all major supported
configurations with current drivers, but with some graphics card/driver
combinations it might screw up. In case you have problems, please try
getting the most recent driver release from your vendor, and only if the
problem persists contact us (refer to the contact section).

cant even run it =/
