Escaflowne timeline

Does anyone know if Escaflowne the Movie comes before or after the tv series? I'm trying to figure out what order I should watch them in.

dunno I just remember hitomi is alot sexier in the movie rofl, but I remember the movie is unrelated to the sries its more like an alternative story if u know what I mean.

the movie is a rewrite of the story, quite a bit of things are changed around. In this case I"ll say watch the tv first for the story and then for an extra watch the movie.

Maybe cause all the characters in the movie didn't have a super long pointy nose like in the anime :p
