I havent' done any of this in a long time so all my old proggies are gone.
Can someone give me a list of some nice web developing tools, I know you can use notepad etc but if anyone has any decent ones, can you give me the name? I used to use dream weaver a while back.

Also what I would really need, which I never got into, is a good image editing proggie for avatars, sigs, websites, anything.

ty in advance

You can do it with Notepad etc, but why spend the time doing everything by hand?

I'm not into WYSIWYG editors (or at least not using that part of it), but I always use programs that save a bit of typing.

Arachnophia is ok and freehttp://www.arachnoid.com , but make sure you get the old version. The new JAVA one sucks.

I use:

Photoshop
Shockwave Director
Flash
Dreamweaver
Coldfusion
Visual Studio .NET
Arachnophilia
Sun JAVA SDK

Yeah. Easy to get started. Hard to master...

Over 6 years and I'm not there yet.

I use FileZilla for FTP :: http://filezilla.sf.net/
I use gVIM for coding :: http://www.vim.org/
I use Amaya for compatibility checking :: http://www.w3.org/ (as well as Mozilla, FireFox ( http://www.mozilla.org/ ) and IE - all both on 'doze and linux (IE under Crossover Office in case you're wondering)
I also use Dreamweaver and Fireworks (I'm a coder and most of the graphics I do are buttons and icons, so Fireworks suits the purpose fine - not really bothered with all the artyness of photoshop - I'll leave that to the experts :D )

Dreamweaver MX2004 has some nice touches, and the 30day demo, is good, got some nice templates, I've pretty much stuck with that, though I use Ultra Edit for hardcore PHP stuff, got it free when I was a SysOp for WUGNET heh :)

Graphics, not really into them, MS Paint works for me

Validation is CSE HTML Validator Pro, though I'm only registered for version 4 or somethin.
