View Full Version : Shaman _ where does he hide?
Where can I find the swamp cave and the Shaman, and what damage do these nasties do?
Cheers for any help.
D06 swamp cave and IO3 swamp cave both have shamens.
They do stacking poison damage and the shamen is a summoner bringing forth mobs 70/70 80/80 90/90 and 100/100. All which stack you with poison.
Swamp Cave I_03 (is one of em I think)
60/60 | 70/70 | 80/80 slimworm thingies, 90/90 | 100/100 bats thingies and the 120 shaman and the end of the cave. If it has an end. always get lost in there :(

It helps to set vegetation detail on low (if you don't already) if you can't see the entrances.
Stay in the water when you get in there.

pack a poison belt and many antipoison drugs you will need them, or take a ppu with aps = peice of piss :) and yeah stay in the water
Have Viper King vest so i should be OK. Do they do anything other than posion stacks? (force, fire etc)
little force, and uber stacks :)
Some of the mobs will try and take a chunk out of you if you get too close, too. It's not bad though.

If you are there on your own, stay the hell away from the shaman. Every class except APUs can solo the swamp cave but the shaman will kill you if you havent got a PPU with you.

we do perfectly fine in there, you forget we're capable of using poison belts and antidote pills *gasp*

How do Hybrids fare against the Shaman? And no, I don't mean newbie ones. I mean almost-capped ones. Just looking for data.

The only class I have real touble with there is rifle spy because of the lack of AoE.

It helps a lot against the Shamen. It's still doable without but it's harder, especially when he gets stuck in the walls/doors which he does a lot in the Gravis cave.

oooooh yyes.... you know what, guys, we need to stand up to KK and ask them to deal with the mobs in wall/door thing, that's just piss-poor - that they can attack you without getting hit - that's clearly an exploit! MOBS EXPLOITERS!!! BAN! BAN BAn!!!111oneoneoenelevenhundredeleven
Swamp caves are easily soloable by any class and better exp than chaos caves for sub-classes that can't use aoe. Ergo, I live there. :-)

Actually... I wanna know, how frequently do the Kri'Nakh drugs drop in those caves?
Seems that people are getting slightly more interested in them, and also, i might engage in some "recreational use" with my H-C PE. Not that the guy is gonna go into there himself.

Except it's easier to get teams at the caves and benefit from 3rd party AoE.
@Heavy - the drop rate sucks IME. Even worse than the Chaos Queen.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from trying to get a 3 slot spell off the queenie on my own.

hybrids have healsanctum and heal , also antidote1 spell, haz1 spell: 50/50 ones do :)
and heavy poisonbelt and fh1

I used to spec poison and as a solo APU with med kits i could solo the whole cave and the shaman
Also, when you get the Shaman, open the door, lure him out into the big open room, and then stay behind the pillars, attack, heal, attack heal, etc.. Thats how I always do when I get in their.
My old tank could take 2 hits from the Shaman (546 HLT) without dying, 3 hits, dead (don't solo the caves like I did)
the shrooms hardly ever drop(about the same drop rate as techs on the chaos queen)
What's the deal with standing in the water? UBER HAX?
the mobs just have a harder time hitting you
aye i did 17 runs with my apu in there and got 2 shrooms off the shaman was disapointed that they drop shit but i was happy with the xp :D

The drops do indeed sound bad...but aye, the experience matters also.
xp is ALOT less than chaos caves....but it is safer

naw its cause no one will jump into the swamp caves looking to PK someone usually
swamp caves arent that popular, so yo uwont get pked in the back or get some nooblet fuckwit with rank 5/8 standing in the barrels
So I get better xp in these caves than I got in the chaos caves, with 3 ppl 2mill per run aint bad
I find Swampies to be very easy.
I'm gonna try and solo one with my spy tonite.
I don't think it willbe a problem. I'll just pack some antidote incase :)

Bugged as nuts, though, what with the rocks.
I mean, sure, nice touch, but far too easy to get stuck. And a bit fatal-prone for me.
