Hola,
as you know, we are all working very hard on the VotR. The team consists of 12 members: reporters, translaters and other have developed many ideas and we are close to releasing the 1st VotR.
Anyhow, we'd like to ask for YOUR help:
We are looking for a new VotR logo
Info:
format/size:
best - as vector-graphic, as being free scaleable
otherwise - big enough to serve as a master/model (~640x480 +)
The colors are not so important... so just concentrate on the acctual "shape"
Furthermore, if your sketch is based on a typo, please let us now what font you used.
As said before, the concept of a good logo, that inherits the "values/ideas" behind the VotR is most important for now.
Your Ideas / Suggestions can be posted here or just send them to me by mail (to ronald.rodriguez@neocron.com )

Photoshop 7 might be the answer to you question...but as I like to say:
"The best equipment is worthless without the right person to use it"
"If someone knows what he's doing, he will get outstanding results even with the most basic equipment"
...anyone who wants to get more familiar with Photoshop might want to check out some tutorials first, as this a very simple and rewarding way to learn different functions of this marvelous piece of software.

the whole picture is done with Photoshop 7 (Photoshop CS ist too expensive atm). ;)
aye, very nice. I had abit of teaching in college with Adobe and its a great progeam IF you have time to learn everything it has. :cool:

Actually this one needs some work but I really like it. Its my favorite so far.

Heyo,
I tried to make a placard inspired by the early election placards of the BRD around 1955. Think that is a nice idea, but i always think that on my own
ones :p
Its a very simple design tho.

Remember that DoY isn't part of the resistance per say, Crahn, TG (and FA to an extent) are.
So perhaps DoY bots/images should be avoided?

IMO this is the most appropriate so far from a logical POV. Im sure the VOTR wouldn't purposely make their logo really scruffy with blood on it ;)

The VotR - Voice of the Resistance is an underground "Newspaper" for/from all Doy Factions (FA, Crahn, TG, TS, BD).
The Team has Members and RP Chars from all this Factions and is build up the new Votr momentary. We are looking for a new Logo, but we have become also a good Suggestion from KK , which we are testing.
If you have more Suggestions for a Logo so post it here, we have a look on this and collect them all.

...first of all, the entire team wants to thank the many players who submitted their work on the forums and caused quite some discussion within the VotR-team too.

In the meantime we have managed to agree on a sketch, which has already been implemented in the existing layout now. Special thanks to andruil and Iorghe[KK] !
In the end of the controversy on the logo, we agreed on relying on a typo-based solution. Of course, there are some reasons, that made us decide this way, as we also received many very good sketches/ideas on the forums, which in the end, didn't manage to get into print (although in some cases very little was missing).
finally we chose the typo-based logo, because:
- it fits in the page-header the best (a rather short, yet very important argument)
- it can be easily reproduced in any size / with any texture
- there really is a reason, why most newspapers rely on typos
...apart from all this, the layout really looked/looks sweet with this logo.
Nevertheless, we will still use the best submissions from the forums for the VotR. So far, I can't give any detail on which ones we picked & how we will use them. you will find out early enough I guess. ;)

Looks good for a newpsaper purposes. Also whats this about a VoTR forum? Will there be a specific section here on the Neocron forums or will it be a seperate message board entirely?
Im looking forward to writing for VoTR. It was always sort of awkward being BD and trying to write something for NeMa, which is why I never did. Can't wait to write some stuff though.

Good to hear that, as there has been very little engagement from the english-comm so far and we still stick to our plan on releasing the VotR in german AND english to provide the vast majority of citizens with unbiased news and reports. Feel free to contact ronaldrodriguez concerning this issue...he is the one who deals with personae ;)
i would love to write for votr but it would be kinda pointless as i play on jupiter but would be writing in english.

Please note, that firstly, every single article gets translated. If you submit your work in english, our co-correctors might skip through the text to get rid of any mistakes...then, if your submission gets approved by the chief editors and the majority of the team, your submission will be published as it is.
Since we will publish each VotR in German aswell as in English, the text would then get translated for the German edition of the VotR. As you see, language is not a barrier.
This also means, both editions will have the exact same content!
The VotR's goal is not to cover server-specific news, but the global story line. Every now and again you might find a "slightly" server-related issue, but WHOLE magazine will be published for all servers.
Our articles & reports are not bound to servers, but to the game/storyline developement. If you want to publish server-related issues, thats what the cronicle is there for, as you can always submit serverrelated faction-news / articles to honeypot.
If any further questions should arrise, feel free to ask....one of the team-members will likely pop in and post an answer
