i was wondering if anyone knows the exact number of hack point we are talking about to surf this l337 hacknet?

and do u get extra bonuses in the net if u talked like this...

does talking like that while ur in it give u invincibility mode if ur a spy? XD ROFL! j/k i was wondering how many points are wwe talking about here...

are we talking a decent lvl of hack of 150+?

im just wondering if it would be possible to surf it without totally loosing cap on all rifles.

also... will doy have venture warps themselves? or is it a neocron feature only?

also you guys said the characters could be made with more modification features... will it be possible that upon the upgrade to DOY those players already in the came now can modify their chars apperance maybe even names for each char one time before logging on the DOY servers? because it would be kinda g@y if new players can modify their chars total apperance while those of us already in the game have to stay with the same cookie cutter face and junk. Altho not like it matters since everyone wears PA and theres no real seperate identities anymore.

also... feel free to answer any subconcious questions i might have brewing that i don't know about.

first of all i hope all the black ice nuke u if u talk l33t in hacknet.
second is that MJS talk about you are able to customize a current char but it is not known in what way because tere is allmost nothing known about customize other them what is posted in the plan file.

ahh and third is that nothing is known about hacknet othere things them the stuff of the IGN feature.

it would be nice if atleast like lvl 1 access to hacknet could be granted with lvl 50 hack...

lvl2 hack net with 60....

etc...

and little by little it can progress to the uber hacknet lvls. The max one should give u the ability to turn of all the copbots in neocron so all anti cities can raid it! PWNED! ROFL!

seeing as how the copbots are "bots"

would be nice if u could cause major power outages or turn off all the turrets in an enemy OP with the uber lvl access. (not just the GR as if heard of the GR abilities.)

/me thinks that u can enter hacknet as long as u can hold a hacktool (like you can enter the grave or the chaos cave as a 0/2) :)

seriously... i mean i don't know what to call people anymore...

ive resulted to saying

"TY, sir/maam."

in plaza when i get pokes or heal and stuff cuz i really have no clue... if u ask me male monk pay should look a weee bit more.... how do u say.... MANLY? because... no offense monk PA looks like a dress... take the curly wrinkles out on the back or something cuz seriously.

as for all the other pa's i can't even tell... maybe have a F or M on the front and back of the PA so i know fekin sex are they.

Its kinda sad i found out the other day this "guy" i was talking to for a few days was really a chick... :eek: and that totally blew my mind LOL!

Tricky for PEs though as the suit is already a charming shade of rust.

Didn't know about that, that sounds cool. by customize you mean like colour and type sort of things?

Hacknet will truly be awesome. Multiple levels would probably be ideal.
I'd like to see the lower levels giving access to locations and such.
The highest levels allowing the hacker to ghost near a gr and strip the armor or random items off a passing players signal.
Imagine the ultimate revenge.
Some poor noob gets ganked a ton. Just because they are a spy, and mostly a tradeskiller. They grow up to become a massive hacker.
They find themselves hovering near an enemy GR. They see an approaching signal. Since time in hacknet is measured in nanoseconds, they have time to read the signals origin, destination, and id of the individual. It's the guy who killed them so many times when they were young. They then yank his armor and weapons. ( might as well use the laggy synchro to some advantage in this game. ) Imagine Genrepping somewhere and finding everything but implants missing. Nothing like popping into a large crowd of people without any clothes on.

Or, redirect a passing signal. Hmm, that guy is anti city. Medicare, here he comes. ( hasn't happened in a while, but we used to be able to genrep to one place and find ourselves in another. Lets use that bug too. )

I would like it if you had to hack into a gr just like into an op (like 100-125 hack).
Once in the "programs" you cary (which will be your weapons) should be dependant on your hackskill, intelligence etc....


This way us spies get some loving, so we'll end up being the weak dies easily class that can realy spy using stealth, hacking into computers and using gliders.

Being able to hack into and hack out of a GR is one of the 'suggested' abilities of HackNet as per one of the very recent interviews. This goes for defunct and strictly controlled GRs as well, by the by. :)

Hey, i can trive any vehicle in the game right now (yes, also the scorpion trike).
I also hack 110 natural and i can use the obliterator.
Still got 11 dex and 12 int levels to go so i'll end up flying too :-)

Spies are pretty good, just if you wanna use em as spies they are not full contact pvp people, just snipers.

God, i would love to bomb at op's in DOY :-)

After the character has been created, you can still change cloth at the outfitter or get a new haircut at the hairdresser. Additionally you can change appearance with items like armor parts, helms, hats, sunglasses or the much requested cigarette. Of course the new character models will take advantage of the updated engine.

You might be able to drive the trike but you can't use the weapon in any way worth mentioning.

PEs can fly all but one of the new vehicles with ease and the last drugged. They can also use almost all the weapons very well.

Spies can use almost none of the weapons and even those we can are so useless you may as well get off and use your fists. You would also need to gimp yourself hard to fly/drive some of the new vehicles as a spy.

PEs will be the uber vehicle users when DoY comes, not spies.

Don't laught at the STR 14 and 30 weapons, you may think they're insignificant initally, but boy, they can do suprisingly large damage.

Looks to me that the Spy can gun all the aircraft cannons and bombs.

when hacknet comes out. Uplinks will actually have a use besides the zones that contain hoverbots in it :rolleyes: And since your level of hack will show how powerful you are inside hacknet? spies will be awesome in there. Which will be funny when a melee hacking tank goes into hack net and runs across a spy he could kill real easy and that spy just destroys him.

as for a vehicle spy. maybe they'll add more imps that will help with combat vehicles. Maybe expimental vehicle chips that add HC, transport, vhc or HC, vhc, TC and such. instead of dex it would add some str but require dex to use :D. Anyhow a vehicle spy don't have to worry cause if his vehicle gets blown up in the sky or whatever he can always stealth the hell out of there. Would have to considering if you want better dmg from combat vehicles you have to gimp on your transport and resist force, and since vehicle ammo weighs so much you'll be overloaded fairly easily. so when vehicle gets destroyed you'll have to drop ammo fairly fast and run :D I just wish anti vehicles and anti flyer weapons weren't so easy to getthe classes that can get them can easily just carry them to op wars so if a vehicle shows up they just switch weapons .. boom boom boom and that's the end of that. It's not even a gimp to use one. Should be a rare weapon from a mob maybe and you have to throw alot of something extra on it like TC or something though for tanks i guess that isn't such a big deal. Well maybe.

The STR 14/30 weapons suck without large amounts of H-C overskill. Taking into account the TRA to carry the ammo a spy ends up screwed if he tries to get even mediocre stats on them.

The same will apply to the aircraft.

Spy won't need more VHC imps, the VEC interfaces give HUGE amounts of + vec and the most you need apparently is 101, which means you only have to spec like 71 natural - and that's 2 off the VHC required to use Trikes anyway if you don't want to risk imps falling out and leaving you in the lurch.
And please, T-C isn't anywhere near an issue for a Spy, especially a Spy driver.

Theres move-on for the + STR and H-C and TRA, there's harden backbone and +str backbone for STR and HC and TRA. So really, trust me, SPies won't be THAT badly gimped in the ammo-carry capablity to H-C overskillage equation.

WeaponLore adds a bit to damage on H-C, so Spies have a CHANCE to keep up with a PE in terms of vhc damage, and given the choice, they'll likely kick the PE's ass in aiming/range.


And PEs defintely won't be able to use the 85+ INT vecs without colossal gimpage (and druggage). PEs won't be as gimped if they were aiming at an INT tradeskill anyway, but if they were expecting any sort of STR or DEX combat ability, kiss it goodbye.

A PE specced to use combat vehicles can get into every seat in every vehicle and cap all the weapons. The only downside is drugging for INT on the Hovercarrier. He can still use stealth and a SpeedGat if he is caught without a vehicle. His resists are good.


A Spy specced to use combat vehicles can't get into every seat (although he's not missing many) and gets lousy stats on the wepaons he can use. He can use most pistols or rifles but has poor agility and no FRC resist so he might as well not bother.



Both classes have to specialise but one gets a much higher return on his investment.

The problem is that a spy has to work hard for STR and gets no benefit from his surplus DEX/INT whereas a PE works hard for the INT but gets a big bonus from his extra STR.

Actually, i eriously doubt a PE can get anywhere near 90 INT even with drugs, much less the 100+ INT.

And considering that technically Spies were intended to be premier vehicle users, maybe KK will lower the scale of H-C specializtion so that Spies can cap vhc guns easier, and that PEs/Gentanks wouldn't so outclass Spies in this regard.

I mean, sure, everyone needs roles, but those are vecs and vec guns - a pootential equalizer.

Yeah, that's what the interview said. What I got out of it was, it's possible to even teleport into GRs that have been malfunctioned or otherwise shut off, especially into, as was said in the interview, enemy empire territory.

However, because there were talks of viruses being fightable inside Hacknet, I can only suppose that to get into the GRs one would have to combat either a hard virus or a defense mechanism in order to gain access.

He can use one drug and/or a glove to board any seat on any vehicle except the gunner on a Rhino.The new vehicles on the test server will realign the situation so that if PEs want to do use all the top vehicles they'll either have to be seriously gimped or use vehicles only.

Oh, and that does include swapping out str implants for dex/int implants, so now the choice will be divided: High Int or High Str?
