[OT] Need help with Snagit (Video capture)

Good day runner.

I have just downloaded the 30 day tril of the program Snagit to capture some video in our beloved NeoCron, however, when i try to capture a video i do the Following:

Select A DirectX application, change the input to the entire screen, change it to a video file, press Capture, press start, ALT+TAB back to NeoCron and run for a wee bit.

When i take a look at it it looks...well..wierd, gfx errors and it seems to lag.

I dont really wanna use FRAPS cuz it seems to kill my FPS, from 79 FPS to 6 when recording in an OK resolution.

Any help with Snagit would be greatly appreciated, or if you have a better idea for a video capturing program plz do tell.

Use fraps, it might hurt your FPS but snagit is hurting it even more

I have a very good computer and fraps still slows it down way to much. There is no way I'll play a op war at 800 x 600 with 3 - 10 fps (when fighting). I get nice fps with snagit but also get the messed up graphics. Player models flashing and stuff... :(

Ok snagit is the best program to use if you want to save your FPS.


The lag and weird GFX is a few settings you need to adjust.

try a few different setups..

suddenly it works great.

Ok...i've been fooling around with it and i elliminated sum problems. NOW when i record i loose some FPS making the movie lag and i still have thoose GFX Clips if you can call em that. im up to a good resolution though.

Ill keep foolin around.

Bte by system is:
2.8 Ghz P4
1 GB Dual ram
Gforce FX 5900
And of course a lot of HDD space.

i can only capture 4 gb with snagit
hd is ntfs formatted
i use the motion picture loss less codec for capturing in windowed mode.
capture prog is riverpast screen capture 25 frames per second.

on plaza1 30 frames
wastes 60-80
opfight maybe 30 but it lags strange sometimes.
capture resolution is 800x600

When I record they are usually some 20 - 100 gb

and then when its encoded its about 10 - 100 mb..






EDIT :: And vanpan... its not really any of my business..

but in the movie..

there are some RED clan and faction to you..

we have a no-attack-contract with the townsfolk of all pp sectors.
the allied faction has killed a member from us.
i dont know why i can only capturing 4 gb with snagit.
any idea?

you using trial edition ?

you got enough free space ?

you changed settings to say max size 4 gb ?

no capturing size limited

well there is advertising when you watch the video...

both in top and bottom of screen.

so I guess it´s a trial of some sort you have.

yes its a trial from the capturing codec.
but i cant record more as 4gb with any codec

FAnG videos were captured using snagit with nc running in windowd mode and it worked pretty well

i just got the program and when i do hotkey to make a video it goes back to desktop
