i love my second one and second last one, although i also love chrome's latest effort as it probably fits a logo more than mine do.

I must point out again that i did not do the main art on the second entry, I just pieced a wallpaper done by someone at www.lowprofile.de rest of them were all done by me

Yeah, I think switch's 3-5 and explosion's are the best basically.

You did not have to include mine however, that is more suiting for like a semi intro screen or whatever.. doesn't really fit on a box :p

The contrast between the neat outer Neocron part, while the filled BDoY part is somewhat grubbier is just excellent. And they're not too large, Logo's shouldn't be too large, they need to be reasonably small.

as far as the other ones go, i like switch's 2nd one. unfortunately i can't give it my vote cause it really isn't a logo, but simply killer box art. as far as logos go, explosion's 2nd attempt gets my vote (at least if i can't vote for mine).

The squint test always helps me when I'm designing logos.

General theory goes that for a brand to be identifiable on glance (which, unfortunately, is as much time as people will give to something they don't know) it should be recognisable with a squint.

In that respect, the only successful logos are actually the official trial, explosion's darker logo, Scarus's first, and Satty's first.

The fact is, however, that they also need to be good pieces of design, which none of these are imo, but most of the ones I haven't mentioned are.

It's really a case of balancing the two, and I'm afraid none of these logos manage that.

I know it's all well and good to say this without showing anything to illustrate my point, and I'd love to have a go, but my client backlog makes that impossible.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm slagging you off, I'm not, but none of the logos, not even the official spec logo, has what it takes to make it great.
