far cry help

when i start far cry it says CD/DVD emulation has been detected and i need to close all applications of it then re-start the game, but i dont have a clue what its on about.

theres nothing in the readme and im just about to go internet trawling, but i thought id ask here to

its probably something realy stupidly easy but i honestly aint got a clue what its on about

You probably have a virtual drive installed on your computer. Shut it down or uninstall it then try running far cry, you might also have to reinstall far cry. If that doesn't work just get a no cd crack.

this a legal copy? what cd burner programs do you have running? (might be in the taskbar too)

you can always get a nocd "fix" from www.megagames.com

i have no such programs on my comp, none in taskbar, apparently on far cry forums theirs a big piece in the tech support, im just looking, seems a few people have had this problem with the game
