Which of these two cards would you choose

1. With Neocron in mind
2. With general game playing in mind

Nvidia:

Ati:

Thanks!

ATI is a better card, they are probably even at the mo but when the dx9 features with bdoy come the ati will shine.

my friends radeon 9600 pro gets half the FPS of my geforce 4 ti4800 in neocron, and i still have vsync turned on...

my friends 9800 pro saphire emerald 256 MB dodleybob ATI card, the 400$ one, isn't much better than my geforce 4 ti4800 when you put it to the test

dont radeon 9800 pro e-z's have half their rendering pipes disabled? becouse if it does i would have to say go with nvidia. also maybe u should try searching for reviews on them both.

btw video cards in neocron arnt used very much. its based mainly on your proccesor speed.

Yeah I have searched on both. I tend to prefer the views of those that own them and play the games I play. :)

Thanks for the input. Cause of the Dx9 support, I think the ATI is the choice for me.

Hell, either is better than my current GF3. :)

No 9800 se's do and they are much cheaper, which means if you risk getting one you can soft mod the pipes open, doesnt always work though :( However by doing this i got a 9800 pro for less than half the price :p

As for NC atm yes geforce cards are better as the current nc engine is ancient and GeForce ran older dx versions better however as said above the current generation of ati cards work better with dx9 so come doy this may change, just have to wait and see.

When talking about gfx cards Neocron is not the best game to base a benchmark :D

Radeon are kicking nvidias ass at the moment and dollar for dollar you'll get a better card for the same money from radeon.

Now nvidia or at least some of its card makers have done something sneeky here:

The XT prefix on Radeons refers to the extreme editions of the 9600 & 9800 cards, you can get better versions of those cards for pure graphical power.

Whereas on the nvidia cards the XT represents the budget version of their cards much like the on MX tag used to.

I'd recommend the 9600XT as by far the better card.

out of them the nvida but if it was the 9800XT (ati) i woudl pick that, and ati cards are going to own nvida in DOY with he new engine;)

ONCE AND FOR ALL: GEFORCE FX 5600 NO MATTER WHAT EDITION SUCK BALLS! THE 256MB OF MEM DOESN'T MATTER!

sorry btw, but far too many people choose those crap cards and it just pains me :)

With a ATI 9800 Pro (http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=AA21610) you can get maximum FPS in Neocron, depending on your CPU...

Trust me.....;)

i have a Asus 9600Xt frames are 50-70 avg / 20-30 Op fight just got farcry and its runs like a dream.
this is the first non Nvidia card ive had since 1999 when i won my Creative geforce GTS at the CEBIT, and i swore i would never change.....now i think ATI>nvidia...you even see a difference in the desktop colours and video playback.
