well to be honest my comps a bit shit compared to current standards and i was wondering with the new stuff like DX9 behind NC BDoY will it have the same system rquirments or if not what will the min or recomended requirments be?
i'd say upgrade now and get ready for HL2 and DOOM3 cus the beta's i've played of these are amazing

not really as easy as that tho when your a poor broke ass student
what do u think student loans are for? education hahaha don't be stoopid they are for getting a kick ass comp and playing nc 24/7
Just wait for your next student Loan and splash out :)
Just forget about food
The upgrade to DX9 should actually improve your FPS, right now the graphics card is barely used and all the strain is put on the CPU and ram, the change to DX9 should put the graphics load where it belongs, on the graphics card, freeing up the CPU to work on the mechanics of the game which should go a long way to reducing FREs.

What about us poor people who are trying to play NC on a laptop?
Could it be that the upgrade to DX9 means it will support new graphics card features, but still work as it does now? (you can just whack the settings down in options).
At least then I could buy the upgrade and still play (£1500 for a new laptop with Radeon 9600 is a bit much for 1 game, not to mention i'd have to win the lottery to get that kind of money atm)...
Dude, why are you playin nc on a laptop?
another way to get cash is mugging old ladies, i would advise it thoo_O

yo fuzzle put tha image as ur avatar, not as forum layout location strectcher thing
I would recommend a DX9 graphics card though... :)
Heh I play on laptop too, hoping to get better fps with doy.... lol I doubt it..:( The only thing that cheers me up is that they say its gonna be more proccessor dependant with p4 2 gig might make some difference..
Um no, less processor dependent. They are moving to DX9 and making it more graphics card dependent.

 didnt they say somwhere that its not gonna depend from just video card (like it is now) but from procc as well so ppl with fast proc and sht video will still get good fps just no uber effects?
dunno maby me got confused O_o

NC is almost entirely dedendant on the CPU.
I upgraded from a ati rage218 32mb pile of vile to a 9500 radeon pro, there was little in the way of fps gain, though I can now use antialiasing and such.

hmm i got 2 comps back home i used to use one for loming other one for playing, anyway first comp is p2 400mhz 256 (100) ram 3DFX VooDoo 5 128 mb(does anyone remeber those lol i love 3dfx) and second comp(for pvp and sht) amd xp 2600+ 512 (333)ddr radeon 9800 128 mb ddr .. there is not much difference in speed, ofcourse first comp a bit slower and it looks like sht and pvp pc never lower than 60 fps. and all setings r up...
So the point is in meh experience nc mostly depends on graphic card... o_O
oh well hopefully doy will be better...
you know, theres a difference between a PII 400 and an Athlon XP2600+
