Characters saved when canceling account?

I haven't been able to play Neocron in over a month, and my current workload is keeping me from doing so. I want to cancel my account so I stop getting charged, but I don't want to lose my characters and equipment because I fully intent to start playing again when I get the chance, especially when DoY comes out. What I want to know is, if I cancel my account and then reactivate it later, will I still have my characters and equipment?

I believe they delete info after 3 months, in theory, but in practice it sticks around a lot longer. When DoY comes out they are going to clean up the database and delete cancelled accounts (I think the 3 month thing still applied though).
I 'spect a mod can give the definative word.

offically its 3 months, but thats kinda just an insurance for them incase they have to or they need to clean up. usually if possible they keep them longer, people are usually more inclined to come back if their char is still there then not.

some ppl's accounts have stayed for over a year.

They have never deleted any retail characters.
