View Full Version : Is there a reason why my auto updater is downloading 100 files?

I go to download the patch, i install it, i run the launcher, i launch the game, i get 15 million errors and now the auto updater is downloading 15 million files.

and for some reason, I already had patches 197 and 198, i dobt i patched the test server patches into my retail client.....

its still going btw.

do i have to reinstall?

Good think i kept the neocron install file.

a small patch they said: doesnt sound like 15.000.000 files :/ i think youre f*****, mail helpdesk about it first and wait for more infoz here on the forums, maybe other people have the same problems ... i cant help cause i didnt installed it myself yet :/

Well, I can always reinstall it, I dont mind too much.

I'll just see what happens at let it download till i go to school.

if its still downloading when I do, ill just reinstall.

doesnt make sense that my folder had patch 197 and 198 though

Aparently its stopped, time to launch the game and see if its okay.

oh, looks like i got currupt files, running a file check and then gonna see what happens.

Well since the models\models.ini file seems to be borked and wont DL, looks like im reinstalling.

nah i had it to, theres about 200 files to download and reinstall, i just let them download and it ended up working so if u do bother to wait it works in the end

did you have test patched 197/198 installed? or did you try installing the new patch to your testserver install?

i've had this too, it redownloads all the files of the game one by one and never stops :P

just reinstall it in different folder, transfer patches and u're done.

it took me 4 hours to download all these broken files.

this is my situation:

fresh re install with patch 197
download 197 and put all patches in patch folder

i install game, get a shitload of error messages that say... unexpected error or something
so then after it applies all patches it takes me FOUR HOURS to download all these broken files. this is after a fresh re install
wtf? i have the US version cd and yes, i used fixed neocronlauncher.

im going to throw my cd's away and get the DL version, i think the problem lies in the crap buggy release thats burned into my cd.
