I was wondering, what graphics card will be good for all of the latest games and B: DoY, I have been told that ATi is better with DX9 than what Nvidia cards are, is this true? I was planning to get a Nvida 5600 250MB card b4 I was told that.

Not exactly El Barte, but most of the new games ad.. B:Doy will use more dx9 components. I prefer the ati ones because since i got my sapphire 9800 Pro Ultimate card, al games are soooooooooooooooo fast. Within the new nvidia cards there isnt be a great difference between nvidia and ati. If you check some component testings you will see that the results are close.

you can get 256 MB cards from the manufacturers

the 64 bit 256 MB video cards are insanly priced and there are VERY few applications that take advantage of 64 bit colors.

I have a 256 meg(DDR) GeForce 5600 FX..NC eats it alive at times, even though it does very well on other games (X2- The Threat being one of them as EVERYTHING is bumpmapped and 4xAA as standard) so lets hope the engine gets a tweak and a tidy up in BDOY.

They are not insanly proced, or at least the one I was looking at deffinatly isn't.

Also I was wondering which do you guys think is better out of these two, MSI Fx5900-TD128 8xAGP 128MB or Gainward Fx 5600 Powerpack Ultra 780 256MB 8xAGP? I am deciding on what to buy and not sure which to get.

Also cannings I will send you the link to where I saw that card on MSN, my dads on the other comp and thats the one with it stored on.

I'm proud owner of a the MSI FX 5900 XT VTD128 for hardly 30 minutes. As soon as I get home I'll pop it into my PC and give you a report =) ...

i also use a 256mg 5600 and it also supports DX9, and it runs NC very well with no glitches, i used to run an ATI 9800 and the only thuing that was better about it was that it had a very nice bug, when i would plress esc to leave NC the 10 sec countdown took 1 sec, very nice bug

uh neocron got some scary gfx bugs especially when you alt tab once... call of duty was totally fucked up.. couldnt even play one mission till a fix came after 2 weeks or so...xiii had problems sometimes....gta vice city had wierd texture bugs sometimes...freelancer crashed every 10 mins.. etc etc

i know there are patches but tbh i cba to search for a new hotfix or trick in some forums before i can actually play the game :/
i gotta damit tho.. i know a friend with an ati 9800 pro and he doesnt have problems at all...its odd :)

/€ mine is a ati 9600 pro btw ;)
imma sell it in 2 weeks cheap to a friend tho and buy a fx5900 xt which im going to flash up to a 5950 :)
( not from a shop... cheap from a friend too ofc :) )

ATI's cards are better from a pure performance point of view. And most games by now are compatible with them, so there's no worries there either.

Ok, I just tested my new GeForce FX 5900 XT and as expected there is no real performance boost with Neocron since I'm using a 1.3 GHz Athlon system with 512 GB RAM only.

But I guess with BDoY and the support of DX9 it should get me a decent boost in overall FPS ;). I'll test another more graphics optimized game tomorrow...

But until the release of BDoY I'll hopefully upgrade my systems MB, CPU and RAM too...

Do what Cyl0n says, thats what I'll be doing.

@Cylon, make sure u get the one with the 2.2ns Hynix memory, NOT 2.8 - Leadtek are supposed to be the best

are there 2 versions of it ? oO
is it really that much diff between 2,8 ns and 2,2 ns ram ?
or is it important when i want to flash the card to a 5950 ?
