As the tital says i'm looking for a new GFX card seeing as mine died at the begining of a lan party so i missed the first night of gaming, until the morning when we went to a local store and 2 flux members chipped and bought be a ceap card to last me until can afford a new one.

The card i'm using atm is a radeon 9200SE and tbh considering it's a low end card i'm impressed with it's performace and wanting to try a better ATI card. I was going to try one anyway but was waiting to see what PCIE cards came out first.

the card i was looking at is an asus radeon 9600XT 128MB from overclockers.co.uk of the reviews i've read it's a very good card and can beat and FX5600 ultra which is priced about £50 higher. The difference i see between the cards is the memory bandwidth which only adversly affects the performace at 1600x1200. Which my monitor can't handle neway so i couldn't care less tbh.

but i thought i'd ask opinions and advice especialy if you have the card yourself also if you know any sites that sell these cards plz post them. (i live in the UK btw)

thx in advance

xt is the new 'pro'

9600 xt is nearly as good as the old 9800 pro's

The Geforce FX 5900XT is a very good (and cheap!) card. I think you should go for that.
Sometimes the Radeon 9800non-pro/pro sells cheap if you can find one you can afford go for it.

Very high-end is:
Radeon 9800XT (best)
Geforce FX 5950U

You can save yourself some money by just getting the 9600 Pro and overclocking it. It's really friendly to it. :) I have an XT and I can't get the darn thing to overclock very high without having glitches and problems.
