off topic but i gota get some input.

I currently use SpybotSD to remove spywear exploits etc from my cpu.

however i keep getting messages appearing on my desktop,

e.g. ...... wants to meet u at ...... address.

cant seem to get rid of them..

any ideas..?

are you talking about random pop ups on your desktop
if so that ish a lil mistake by microsoft, there is a windows messenger service you must disable <no not msn messenger> though off the top of my head i can not remember how to do so.
i know it will be fixed with the next service pack but there is another way to disable it try a google search

Yup - you need to stop the Messenger Service

In XP...

Control Panel > Admin Tools > Component Services > Services

Locate the Messenger and Stop then Disable

Anyone know a good free, reliable e-mail provider ?

my current one is starting to charge so im ditching it.

p.s. pls dont say anything microsoft

there was a really good one i heard of, really safe and secure and free.... sommat like potmail or snotmail, oh yea hotmail :D

actually if your looking for web based mail i use apexmail always been good to me so far and 50meg inbox not too bad.

the messenger service was originally invented to send messages around networks ... now dumbass companies just spam ISP's IP pools with adverts .. tis a shame really

my isp mail is/was screwed so i dont use it..web based is just easier for me.
