FPS/TPS Melee combat games

Well, I need inspiration for melee controls for a TPS game (third
person shooter ie you dont "lock on" to your target as you do in
traditional third person games for example prince of persia: sot)
so, does anyone know any FPS-ish games where you have fun
melee combat? Like can do different attacks etc. This should be
for PC btw, something using keyboard and mouse.

Uhm Jedi Knight....Broken sword(dont remeber the name but something like that), think also some game called Rune.

I suggest Jedi Knight 1 or 2 or the academy thingy.

OK forget Broken sword, it was another game where you ran around in caves and had to move your mouse to swing yer sword.

Yeah Die by the sword, thanks Ozam for the refreshing memory i guess....Also Jedi Knight 1 with some mod made the game alot of fun, and would be easily done in Neocron too i guess...

Wars & Warriors: Joan of Arc and Knights of The Temple (or whatever the new game from Starbreeze is called) might be worth a look.

well i saw the new lord of the rings game where u batter things with swords but i dunno wot the view format is, it might be tps not so sure

Savage is exactly what you're looking for then.

although, I personally play Jedi Academy instead as I like the force powers + lightsabers.

Im alos looking for a similar game. Something like Onimusha (XBOX/PS2), melee-based jobby. No guns. guns = bad.
