Ok, there is one thing about runspeed that i've been thiking about
and the whole thing about it being affected by FPS.

Lets say my char has 80/80 agil/ath. and the theoretical runspeed
of this would be 10 (just a good even number to work with)
This theoretical runspeed of 10 would be achieved at 60 FPS.
On my screen i get lets say 30 FPS so my char only runs as fast as
half the max runspeed, that is 5.

My opponent however has 60 FPS so do i run my full runspeed on
his/hers screen aswell or do i run slower because of my lower FPS rate?

Hope you understand what i'm talking about, i barely do myself :p

Why would runspeed be affected by FPS? You'd simply move twice as far between frames at 30 FPS than at 60 FPS. That's as long as the code is right and none of the vehicle speed and FPS hi-jinks is present.

I seem to remember vechicle movements being effected by FPS as well.

Should all change with the DX9 upgrade of BDOY.

vechicle speed use to me affacted my fps they hardcapped speed a few patches ago

on a decent machine the red car could easily pass anybody on a shit machine flying a hovertech

dont think my fps has ever effected my RoF or run speed, but ill keep an eye on it, may mean readjustments to con:(

it does... its been tested

just likeit affects almost anything else in the game..

i have a personal belief that it also affects ur FRE chances....whenever i get low FPS i notive i FRE alot more

Anyway, I have noticed that FPS does affect a *lot* of movement-based things in this game. It used to be that vehicle speeds were pretty much dependent on FPS, but they hardcapped the speeds and added server-side position correction (this is why you sometimes warp backwards or forwards when driving). I've also noticed that FPS affects the speed at which you move up and down gravlifts and how much "damage" you take when falling.

Also, I have noticed peculiar times when fighting when my PE seemed to just unload on something/someone and it turns out that my FPS was wildly fluctuating.

So my guess is that this game's engine coding is utter shit... :\
